    • Great timing belt kit for Honda Accord

I was going to bring my car to the dealer for the timing belt change until I saw this kit. I ordered this kit as it is shown as a fit for my Honda Accord V6. Amazon delivered it in 4 days and it arrived in excellent condition. I was not surprised that it came with the Aisin tensioner and the Koyo idler and the tensioner pulleys. The belt is Gates brand but also made in Japan. I was a bit concerned that the timing belt is very thin but checking the old belt, it looks the same. I was a little surprise that the water pump is not Aisin like some others had stated. However, it seems good quality aluminum casting and the pulley is polished metal rather than the dull metal color from the picture. Upon further checking, I found that the water pump is identical to the AC Delco unit. I will take the AC Delco over the Aisin any day as AC Delco parts are usually made in the US. If I can get another 100K out of this kit on my Accord, I would be very happy. I was also surprised that the same kit will fit the Honda Odyssey as well. I had ordered some new tools to get this kit installed but I will wait probably until the fall to do that. It is too darned hot to work on the cars this summer with the unbearable humidity. Once I am done with the Accord, I will order another kit for the Odyssey. I think this kit is a much better kit than the Aisin kit which has a no name belt, probably Chinese knock off of Mitsubishi and an Aisin water pump. ... show more

This is the kit you want to purchase when replacing your Honda 2006 V6 Accord timing belt, tensioner, idler pulley and water pump. All parts fit correctly and Gates has made the best quality belts for years. I completed the job 4 weeks ago and the engine runs great. Note: If you have problems getting that stubborn crankshaft pulley bolt loosened, use a pneumatic 3/4" impact wrench and a 19mm deep well socket along with the Honda crankshaft pulley removal tool which keeps the crankshaft from spinning (I used the Powerbuilt brand too). Bought this kit to do a timing belt and water pump replacement on an 2004 Saturn Vue with 96,000 miles. Turns out this particular Vue has a Honda engine and drivetrain and that really boosts my confidence in this vehicle. Received the kit and it is high quality original equipment manufacturer grade. Included instructions were helpful and supplemented the service manual I had. Took me about 5 hours to do the install and the car is running just fine with another 100,000 miles in her future. Installed this timing kit on a 07 Honda Pilot. Everything fit as it should. Kit also came with a shim to fix an issue that Honda has put a bulletin out for. Corrects an alignment issue with one of the idler pulleys. Relatively clear instructions if you are mechanically mindful. Let’s face it, if u need full on step by step instructions then maybe you shouldn’t be replacing a timing belt. ... show more

It fit perfect for the 2012 Acura MDX, only problem I had is , they didn’t included the water pump gasket. I didn’t notice that until late night , when I started installing the pump. So I had to stop the work and next day I bought it from Auto Zone $3.

Excellent packaging, including instructions. Everything was in mint condition and fit perfectly for my 2006 Honda Odyssey. NOTE: *** Go out and buy a Lisle Harmonic Balancer Remover Socket. I bought the Lisle 77080 (19mm) but they make it for many sizes. Use a simple electric impact wrench (mine was only 325 ft-lbf) and it will pop off in seconds. This will save you hours trying to get off that stupid harmonic balancer. Yes, this thing is a socket, but its an impact socket on steroids - I bought it after a Honda Service tech told me he uses it all the time instead of that stupid Honda tool. ... show more

Installed this kit on my 2004 Honda Accord V6 a few months back, after reading reviews and shopping for the best price. As others have stated, the Honda OEM parts I removed, were identical to the parts installed from the Gates kit. After a few months of driving, everything seems to be working great, the pulleys, tensioner and belts have reduced the amount of noise coming from my engine, which is a bonus. Installation instructions aren't the greatest but as long as you or a professional mechanic know how to install a timing belt/ water pump, everything should work out fine. ... show more
