  • Got It In The Nick Of Time
I ordered the Baldr BEFORE we found out about hurricane Idalia, and it arrived yesterday intact, I tested it with various appliances and charged my phone and tablet and seemed to work fine. It tells you how many hours of power you have left for several items, for example for an oscillating pedestal fan it’s a rough 8-9 hours, for a mini fridge about 5. The power station is about the size of a Fiat car battery, it’s lightweight and super portable, and has 2 built in lights as well. The solar panel is quite large, it exceeded my expectations and it folds up to a suitcase with handle. The solar panel is actually heavier than the power bank itself. I will use it for the storm if necessary and update my review. I took a photo of it on top of a Coleman cooler so you can see the size comparison. ... show more

  • A little peace of mind
Perfect for my needs when power is out, and the price was right.

  • No power station
The solar panel has been delivered, but the power station has not yet been delivered. Where is the power station?

  • Exceptional product and People
Bought 3 of these and they all hold their charge for months on end. Be sure to run the batteries down periodically to keep them working properly. The seller has my more integrity than most others out there. He went out of his way to resolve an issue several months after the transaction. I most definitely will continue promoting their products. ... show more

  • Not for space heaters or kettles
It's really cute and nice for your luxury items but it can't handle the wattage you need for life saving equipment like a space heater or electric kettle plate. You need over 1500 watts on the 120v output and this simply isn't built for that. Nice otherwise.

  • Great product
The combo is perfect and panels charge up the battery quickly

  • Excellent Value
I shopped all the different power stations and this was by far the best value. All the others had the solar panels sold separately at over two hundred a pop. Not this set. Came with it. Where I live in Florida the solar panels charged from 20% to 100% in just under eight hours. Still had daylight to burn! The 460+ WH easily ran my HP laptop on the AC adapter for over four hours before I had to switch to PC internal battery. Great value. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Baldr Solar Generator 500W, 461Wh Portable Power Station with 120W Solar Panel
I have redone this review after using the Battery and Solar Panels for awhile and better understanding there capabilities. The item shipped separately. The Solar panel arrived a few days before the Battery. I tested the solar panel. It was a completely overcast day. I plugged in Via USB 2 Walkie talkies which basically were powered on 3 rechargeable AAA batteries (6 total). These fully charged in an hour with no sun at all. When the battery arrived it was at 50%. So I took it out on a bright sunny winter day and plugged it in. It took 4 hours to reach 100%. I will test this a few more times. The Battery from a full charge powered a box fan for 4 hours before it was dead. It drew 109W. This was basically what it was rated for. I will continue to test with other devices. One thing that kind of annoyed me was at 3 hours the battery shut off. It was at 35%. There was no indication of why. Nothing in the manual mentions a 3 hour runtime limit and that would be pretty useless if there was one. I pushed the power button and it came back on to complete the power drain. The power estimation of remaining runtime was pretty accurate. When I started it told me I had 4 hours and it lasted 4.10. Update 12/15/2021 One major downside. The Power unit turns off for no apparent reason. I ran a Lighted Christmas tree. It said it would run for 44 hours. The estimate was probably correct. The problem was it turned off after about 6 hours even though there was a constant power draw of 9 to 10w . Then when turned back on it lasted about another 6 hours and shut off. It was only down to 70% after 13 hours. Update 1/5/2022 I Contacted the company about the issue of turning off. They responded the same day. They said it was a known issue to conserve battery life when not in use. I could send it in to have it updated to correct the issue. I responded back with a few more questions and again they responded quickly and provided a return shipping label. As I had no current plans for the battery unit I sent it in. It arrived back today and I will rerun my tests. I love companies that stand behind their product and want you to be happy with your purchase. I always say "you never know how good a company is until there is a problem with their product". I ran the Christmas tree test again and this time it shut off after 12-13 hours. This is at least acceptable. My next test was with a light with a 60W bulb (incandescent). This actually pulled closer to 75w of power from the unit. It ran until the battery was out of power and lasted about 6 hours. This was again exactly what it should have run based on the 461 Wh rating. I then tested with my wife's apap machine. It pulled about 50-60W of power and the unit claimed it would work for 8 hours. I was surprised the unit pulled that much power and 8 hours is a bare minimum so 461Wh is probably to small. Basically when you decide to buy a Battery you need to determine your requirments. This was something I did not fully understand. Basically Wh rating / W = Run time. So if a unit pulls 10w then with this 461Wh unit it would run 461/10=46.1 hours. In the future if I was looking at these I would probably old off for a bigger unit more in the 1000Wh plus rating. The problem is they are priced $1000 and up. That is way more than I would want to spend. I thought 500$ for the Unit and Solar Panel were more than I wanted to spend but did anyway. It looks like you have to get into the 1000Wh batteries before you get a high enough Watt rating to run anything that has a heating unit. I think the things to consider on a unit is: 1) What are you going to use it for. How much power does it draw? 2) How long do you need it to run Wh / W used = Time. 3) Size and Weight. 4) How quickly can it be solar recharged. For the solar panels 1) Power output of the panels. Overall quality of the product and company selling it. I think the Baldr 500W, 461Wh Battery and Solar panel does a good job. The product does what it says it will do. The panels recharge the battery fairly quickly. It recharges smaller items at full speed compared to an electrical outlet. The solar panel has multiple plugs to charge different brands of batteries plus USB and USB C. The battery itself displays accurate information and estimates. It has 12V DC, USB, USBC and 2 AC outlets so it has all the plugs you need. Based on the Wh rating it lasts as long as it should. I would buy a Baldr product again if I needed one. ... show more
