This is excellent for hands free transport or when your hands are otherwise full. More compact than a typical carrier, so not for longer periods of confinement. Easy to put together aa well as disassemble for flat storage when not in use.

This cat backpack seems best suited to kittens and very small cats, not full sized cats. My 1.5 year old cat was the runt of the litter and he is small for his age. Even he barely fits into this backpack and not comfortably. He has to slouch down while sitting in it and there's barely enough space for him to curl up in a tight little ball in the bottom. I tried to entice him to stay in it, so I could try carrying him in it, but he wasn't having it. That may be because of the chemical smell coming from the backpack. It's the typical low quality synthetic fabric off-gassing smell. I tried airing it out for many days, leaving it in the sun for a day and coating the pack with baking soda, to deodorize it. Nothing worked and while the smell diminished a little, it still smells bad. If it makes me nauseous to smell it, I'm not going to force him to stay inside of it. Comfort level for the wearer is OK. The back panel has a little bit of lateral padding, but no lumbar pad. It's a little small for me, at 6'3", 200lbs, but I can wear it. It might cause lumbar pain after a while though. The backpack seems durable and like it will hold up to a fair amount of use. It should be noted that the support structure for the front of the pack is in the part that zips down, so when it's open, the pack starts to sag and collapse a little bit. The bottom platform piece is inside the removable white pad, which can also be zipped open for cleaning. ... show more
