I ordered this for my girlfriend when she tore a muscle in her back and got told she has degenerative disc disease. This brace significantly helps keep your back straight and and supports your muscles. The overall quality is solid, and the Velcro seems to hold up well even through many uses now. The last thing I have to share is how nice the ice packs that come with it are, you can put it in the freezer and place it in the back of the brace and ice certain portions of your back. Lumbar Support Belt seems to be of top quality material. Works perfect for me. Can't really wear it right now, cause ive just received spinal trigger point injections.I would recommend buying if you suffer from lower lumbar pain/of have had spinal surgrey.

Did what I wanted it to do. I threw out my back, and it was taking me 10 minutes to stand up. I wore it to work under my shirt, and the guys at work didn't know I was wearing it. I spend part of my day at work at a computer, and the rest of the day I am walking, climbing ladders & stairs and generally bending and twisting my body to do inspection of the work being performed.

My background: I have chronic pain from severe back injuries. I broke 4 bones in my back after getting thrown from a horse I had no business training. “Rodeo breaks.” The bones never healed. So there are bone fragments moving around when I move. Over the past 20 years, my back has worsened to the point that I’m in a wheelchair at times. I have a service dog for mobility, a neuromuscular implant for pain, have had many epidurals, nerve blocks, PT, acupuncture and anything I thought might help. The things I’ve bought are embarrassing. Some are ridiculous, but if you have chronic pain, you’ll try anything. If you identify with any of this, take a look at this brace. It will give you a tool to use to keep an acute stage from coming. You can tell sometimes that your back is especially unstable. Even rolling out of bed can be “that thing” that happens and you are in trouble. If you have something that supports your back until it’s not so unstable, you can avoid some really bad stuff. This brace is the perfect amount of support to let your back settle down. I have a brace that my doc ordered for me. It has a metal insert. Not flexible at all. For acute times, I’m grateful for it. It will keep discs and vertebra from slipping. I have 4 vertebra that have slipped on top of each other. This gentler brace has built in supports on the sides. I’ve never seen crossover Velcro like these. It’s a bit confusing at first. That’s all I’ll say. You’ll figure it out. But you can adjust it to the level of support you need. If you have chronic pain and acute times that are excruciating, you’ll love this brace. Sometimes, I know my back is unstable. This brace will keep an acute stage from happening. The brace my doc ordered can be too harsh. There is a definite place for the brace my doc ordered. But not every single day. When I take the harsher one off, the thing that I’m trying to avoid with my back…happens. One giant spasm as soon as the brace comes off. Then I’m bedridden for several days. Needing help to do anything. It’s a slow process to heal. I feel like this brace has been the tool I’ve been missing.

Pulled my back doing some work and needed something to help support while it healed. Back just wasn't healing after weeks as I kept pulling it while doing daily activities. Bought this to support my back for awhile so it could heal up. After a few weeks of wearing it my back had healed. Keep it handy just for when I pull it again, as I know I will. Wish these were around when I was younger, as many times I could have used it. Now that I am older it doesn't quite heal as fast so the extra support makes all the difference. It is breathable but still warm like an extra shirt. Not sure I would wear it under the cloths but more like over a t-shirt. The warmth can be good for the back but not always for the comfort. The elastic has held up well. Allowing me to set the tension as much or as little as needed. Like the extra wide coverage as this released more tension on the muscles. Found the comfort and support far better than the work weight belts for heavy lifting. Not as thick and stiffening, so offering more relaxing comfort for home with everyday support.

Thus far, this has been a real life saver. When you hurt/strain your lower back, every morning is torture because your back stiffens up and the pressure of getting up and lifting yourself out of bed puts a strain on it. It you put this brace on first thing in the morning, it takes most of that pain away. I also used it with the cold/hot pack insert which transmitted the cold right through and the pack itself seems to be pretty high quality... the cold lasted for well over an hour. It's simple to use and easily adjustable. I found it comfortable to wear over an Underarmor shirt, which cuts down on sweat.

Lost some weight so needed a smaller brace. This new one is amazing and I am so glad I needed to order a new one. It adjusts much better than the three I had prior. The additional supports to the sides in the back make for a MUCH better experience than the center only type. The ice pack is great quality material. I have not heated it yet as I am a regular user of the ice. Well made and soft material. Much less unintentional velcro grab too.

The "loop" side of the Velcro is essentially a one-time use. Over the course of three weeks of intermittent use, every time I remove the brace and put it back on I have to find a new spot of unused "loop" or the "hook" side won't stay attached, making this useless after a while. The "hook" side still seems to work fine on other "loop" fabrics. Otherwise, this brace is great. The center lumbar support and the stays really do support my back well and serve as a gentle reminder to correct my posture if I slump. It is comfortable to wear when sitting, standing or laying down. Whether it will offer pain relief probably depends on the individual and their injury. I don't think it gave much pain relief for me, but that is likely not due to the brace, but the nature of my injury. For someone else, there may be pain relief. If they changed the Velcro closure material to something that will last a lot longer, this would be 5-stars for me.
