Purchased this as a gift for my niece and she absolutely loved it!!! It was so much fun right out of box, and was a perfect gift for an 11 month old. Be sure you have at least 3 AA batteries! This guitar is a wonderful introduction to musical instruments, adding colors, lights and sound effects for irresistible fun! It is very engaging, both visually and physically. The light color on the neck matches the color of that key, for exampe: red key = red light, orange key = orange light, and so on. There are no actual guitar strings or buttons. It does pick up pretty well on the strumming motion and really encourages motor skill development! There are two volume controls, a softer setting and a louder one you can flip back and forth. You can also change the sound of the guitar, acoustic style or banjo, which can be fun for a different sound! The Whammy Bar is the most fun though!!! Enter silly mode using the whammy bar and have endless fun. Show your little ones what it really looks like to rock out! My husband was having an absolute ball acting silly putting on a show. It is made out of quality materials that be easily cleaned and is a great value for the money! So I saw Vance joy playing riptide on TikTok on one of these (octopus, zebra, baby chick repeat) so I got one to play with and also introduce my nephew and niece to music. It was SO SO popular that it lead to the kids fighting saying it was their turn and no other toy would do. And then my nephew found the toggle between the chord version and the songs that play… the songs are so annoying when they keep going. I wish there was a way to turn that feature off an just let them play chords. Not for them but for the sake of everyone around them. It’s a very well made toy, it’s a lot of fun, can be handled by toddlers easily and also this is an auntie or grandparent toy to have at home as parents would get sick of it so fast if they played with it on more than weekends ... show more

I was initially disappointed that the guitar didn't have actual strings, but after watching my 2yo grandson playing with it I got over it real quickly. He loves it. Lots of options.
