I ordered these books because my grand daughter wanted to have books to read in the tub. She tried using a cardboard book, but it got wet and broke. She is nearly 4 and likes the variety of pictures. They have proven to be durable through multiple baths. They can be rolled to wring out the water, and they dry well. The construction is durable. Some of the text is quirky. It's not the usual English for children for the text. The word "cognition" is in the text, and one of the animals is a "sika deer." She isn't reading yet, so it's not a problem for us, and certainly the books are not really targeted for the early reader.
