I fully admit that I bought these blocks for my 7 month old baby girl because I wanted them! Although the price seems pretty steep, they are incredibly cool...with many unique shapes with so many building possibilities! I am a designer so that's probably why they appealed to me, with their unusual arty colour palate and architectural elements (columns and arches). The B. (Battat) company does a great job of making toys with beautiful bright colours that are still easy on the eyes...and look great even sitting out in the living room. Also they demonstrate a very appealing socially concious attitude, using recycled packaging, soy based inks, and even donating to a children's charity with each toy purchased. This toy came with an interesting little booklet of funny children's quotes...with a heading for each: B. Priceless, B. Observant, B. Wise, B. Experimental, B. Curious...etc. It was a nice added touch! Now back to the blocks: I'm sure that a toddler or young child would love to build creative structures with these blocks, but since my baby is still so young I can't confirm that...although I've had a lot of fun building little temple façades! But as a toy for a baby (who lets face it is very likely going to do nothing but chew on them for the next 6 months to a year!) they are also wonderful, since they are very safe with no phthalates and are BPA free. They have no weird smell like some rubber/plastic toys and they are squishy and squeaky. I can imagine that they will be nice to have lying around the house for the next few years...if you stepped on one it wouldn't hurt at all, unlike the traditional wood alphabet blocks! There is a block for each letter of the alphabet with a corresponding animal. Some that you would expect...Z for zebra, E for elephant, C for cow. But there are also more unusual animals like a koala bear, penguin, lobster, dolphin, quail, vulture, jaguar...unicorn! The animal relief carvings are so much cuter in person than they look in the pictures! The animals are seen from different angles on each side of the block and some even have additional characters like the bears with a beehive and honey bees. Many of the pictures have real personality...like the adorable bunny rabbits, yawning hippopotamus, and a frog with a long tongue catching a fly! I'm sure these blocks with have many uses in the future, to teach letters and animals, as well as to encourage creative building!

I just thought I should take the time to say something about these, because they are still a favorite in our house after 2.5 YEARS (Bought these Dec 2013). [I will add this review to the number version as well, because we have both sets dumped into a basket mixed together for easy access.] After much play from two children, these are still going strong and one of our household favorites. The colors are vibrant, the blocks are made of a thick and sturdy rubber, and the designs on them are so cute and very fun to look through. The carrying bag can be used to store the blocks, but we eventually threw it away after we got tired of bagging them up every day - especially because bagging this specific set of blocks can be a bit of a puzzle (The manufacturers included a cheat sheet in the bag for storing them again, but no one wants to go through that daily when putting away toys). They stack very well and stay stacked, and we love all of the different shapes included in this pack! Just for informations sake, and because our kids think every toy in our house is bath appropriate, these blocks CAN be played with in the bathtub BUT they have a small hole in them, so the water can get in and become trapped. These would make an awesome gift for your children or someone else's children. They're perfect for little boys and little girls, and I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

This is a great toy! I love that my daughter can use it as she grows and still enjoy it. It’s the perfect width to have her toy wooden cars go down as well that we also got off Amazon. I just wish it didn’t have the squeaker hole so I can wash them and not worry about mold inside. I havnt seen any 4mo safe silicone blocks that don’t have the hole, and these seemed by far better than the other brands. I also wish they had a bigger pack but all and all I’m happy I got them

Wow, wow and more wow. When I first saw these blocks on Amazon I thought they were small and looked past them to other blocks. I kept coming back to these because I love the shapes, colors and animals/letters on the blocks. I saw a photo of a little girl where she had made a tower out of them and then I realized how big they are! These blocks are really large, I'm not sure exactly how big the bag is, but it's quite large and somehow, these blocks easily fit back into that bag without a hassle. You just have to use a little common sense, but it also comes with instructions on how to get the blocks back into the bag. These blocks are washable, squeezable, and durable. You could play with them for years I'm sure and still have them looking brand new. The shapes and lettering on each block are top notch, you couldn't ask for better, the art work that was put into these blocks is 5 star and they are worth every penny!!!! My son loves to pull them out and can easily spend an hour just pulling them out of their bag, he's 9 months. They provide hours of fun for us and they are so portable! You can take a couple in your diaper bag or take the whole bag! I love these, there is no better block out there! They also squeak and have an airhole. It is not recommended that you immerse them in water because they could grow bacteria inside I'm sure.

So my son had these 7 years ago when he was a baby, I was shocked to find they still made them and I immediately added them to my cart. Sometimes they cycle out old toys but this one is obviously as timeless as I thought it was. Now my 8 month old daughter gets her own set and she loves them as much as he did. They haven’t changed a bit :)
