  • Too tan to give a damn
Style: too tan to give a damn
I have fair skin, this gets me dark. I do two to three coats. I’ll probably buy the darkest color when I reorder as I have the second to darkest. I leave it on all day. Then wash it off the next morning. By the time I shower any color that comes off is very minimal- just the color guide which is a slightly gray tint. I end up coming out of the shower as dark as I was going into the shower, just with a beautiful brown color minus the slight gray hue. I, like many here, have used almost every self tanner on the market. This stuff is cheap and gives you a deep, dark tan, what more could you ask for? The color doesn’t settle right away so you can check it out once done in one area and you have time to even it out if you need to. I never have streaks or am blotchy. Just be sure to properly prep your skin, this is the key to an even, beautiful tan. If you’re a beginner do your research, or read the pro tips below. I wish someone had given me these tips before I first started on my self-tanning journey. Here is how I prep and how I keep my tan lasting as long as possible. - Start exfoliating two to three days prior to tanning. (Here’s why this first step is MOST important: If you just exfoliate once, you’re going to get a bunch of dead skin cells off, but you’re not going to get everything off. When you tan dead skin cells, those dead skin cells are going to eventually shed themselves not at the same time as the other skin cells, and so you’ll left looking patchy or spotty. I use Indie Lee’s ‘Coconut Citrus Body Scrub,’ but any salt or sugar scrub you like will do. If you have dry skin, use a moisturizing body scrub as exfoliating can be abrasive and remove moisture. - Remove hair the day before with an epilator or by waxing, something long term so you don’t have to shave your color off. If you must shave, shave the day of tanning when you shower, not the day before. - Shower the day of tanning- but WAIT to tan. You want your skin to be clean when you apply your self-tanner, but you should wait a little bit post-shower to slather on tanner. When you get out of the shower, your skin is more absorptive and the self-tanner or the bronzer [can] seep into your pores, which can leave you with a speckled appearance, almost looks like blackheads or freckles. **If you're in a hurry to apply, you can run ice cold water over skin for 15 seconds to prevent seepage, but your skin should be completely dry before applying tanner to prevent uneven application. - Protect your hands and feet, apply a fragrance free moisturizer because if you don’t they will be orange. Go for a non-oily moisturizer that absorbs quickly. Make sure whatever you use even if it’s something you have to use in a bind, that it COMPLETELY absorbs into skin first. For dry skin do two coats. I VERY lightly apply moisturizer to knees and elbows and lightly apply tanner on these areas as well. - Use a tanning mitt, for small areas like feet you can use a make up brush, it works just as well as a tanning brush- trust me I’ve used both. Doing this ensures a subtle tan in those areas also. I use one for my face also, and blend it into my hairline in circular motions. - Work from the feet up. Your body creases and so will your tanner if you don’t. - If you forget to pick up a sling tanner for your back, use a spatula and put it in your mitt. (Don’t judge 😂) - WASH HANDA IMMEDIATELY AFTER. Use a makeup brush to blend the areas around your hands and wrists so that you don't finish with a line. - To preserve your self-tan for as long as possible, take lukewarm showers. Once you get out of the shower, be sure to pat yourself dry instead of rubbing and always moisturize. If you need to wear something tight like a sports bra, apply talc-free baby powder onto your skin before you wear it to make sure your tan stays glowing. To keep up with your tan for as long as possible be sure to use these showering tips towards the bottom. When you remove hair try a cream hair remover, avoid shaving if you’re gonna keep up the tan. Reapply as needed, every few days should do the trick. ... show more

  • I’ve never been so tan!
Style: fall in love at first tan bundle
I am very pale and do not tan in the sun I only burn. I have been looking for a sunless tanning solution that doesn’t make me orange or yellow. The violet tones in this one is why I chose to try it. When I tried it at first I only left it on one hour and I was about a shade darker than my natural skin tone. When I tried it overnight I was pleasantly surprised at how dark I got without a yellow/orange hew! I have never been this natural of a tan color before and I am now obsessed with b.tan violet mousse! With any sunless tanner I did miss some spots and have slight streaks on my back (it’s so hard to reach!), and I blotted my knees but wish I didn’t because they are now lighter than my legs. I blotted around my hands and wrists and it turned out great, though! As for the smell, it is not strong when putting it on but when the tan develops I do smell the sunless tan smell, even after showering, which is expected, but it’s not terrible. The mousse is also colored and makes you look gray at first but once you wash it off you get a gorgeous brown tan color. I looked darker before rinsing off, but still happy with the results. This was my first time using a tanning mitt as well and I definitely think it helped minimize streaking on my arms and legs because I could see the mousse and where I needed to blend it in. I should also not that I kept checking to see where I was getting too dark and blotted to make sure I stayed evenly tan for that first hour it was on because it develops pretty quickly. Overall, I’m happy with this product. I would consider buying it again! ... show more

  • Good for the price
Style: get the darkest tan bundle
I bought the color "I want the darkest tan possible", I'm 5'7", 230lbs & a medium skin tone on most of my body, but I never show legs, so they're pretty pale. I'm a 2nd time self tan user (ever in my life). I'm always a "research before you do anything" person though because I don't want to mess it up, so per YouTubers... I exfoliated the parts on my body I was using the product on really well, shaved, & moisturized the rough patches (elbows, ankles, knees, etc) & I waited after my shower about 30 min so that my skin could cool down and the pores could close. I'm naturally a very dry skin, so I had some rough patches on my shins that kind of absorbed the product more. I also have bigger pores on my shins, so it's a bit "dotted" (shown in close up pic) & I have a pretty big scar that also absorbed a lot, but I was able to blend it out with my shower & make-up wipes. I kept the product on for the 1st hr (see pic) & I could tell my skin color had changed, but it was kind of pale/ grey. So I applied a second coat & left it on overnight (approximately 14 hrs total) & I did use a tad bit (1 coat) on my face & it's a bit patchy as well, but I'm not too worried about that cause I have make up. Overall, I like the color I got. I'll probably rinse off and reapply one more time to my legs since they're still lighter than my arms, but I really like the color. It's not "orange" & you just have to keep adding layers to get your desired color. The pics don't showcase it very well & please don't mind my bedhead & "just woke up" face. I hope this review helps anyone wanting to try it out. ... show more

  • Don’t be scared olive girls
Style: fall in love at first tan bundle
First time tanner here. I am also fair olive, think glossier G10 shade fair. I had a good exfoliating shower and didn’t put anything on my skin before applying. Now, I was terrified of looking orange but I got my husband to get my back even and did just one coat for 4 hours and then rinsed this off. I love that this barely has any scent at all and it dries down, I remember how stinky and sticky some felt when I was a teen ick. I even put this on my face mixed with a little moisturizer and it worked well, probably lasts better if you don’t use tretinoin like I do. I definitely ended up with a noticeable tan and its not giving oompa loompa so I’m very pleased. I’m going to reapply it today to see how dark it can get as I only got the second darkest. Great price too! Only thing is I forgot that Id need different makeup products now since Im darker lol! ... show more
