The OG! Love This Stuff.

Tried-and-true, go-to tanning product. Sure, you can buy those other "fancy-shmancy" tanning products, but good ol' Jergens is WHERE IT IS AT. This is the OG and will forever be my go-to. It's easy to use, as I just put it on after I shower every day, as one would with regular lotion, and it works like a charm. My legs are always nicely tanned (that's where I put it on). It doesn't EVER look streaky or orange. I always get disappointed and regret when I veer off of Jergens (for a change of pace), but it reminds me that Jergens is king. Oh, and there is NO SMELL at all. I remember when this stuff first came out on the market back in the day; it had the reputation of smelling AWFUL. Well, Jergens took care of that complaint because it does not smell like ANYTHING now. It honestly would be kind of nice if they came out with some scented versions... Excellent product for short-term use

I needed a tan quick (like in 3 days) because of an off-the-shoulder shirt I planned to wear to the Celtic Festival. With my work schedule, there was no time to sit in the sun, so I purchased this product. Fortunately, it arrived the morning before the event, so I had exactly 1.5 days to get a tan. I scrambled to put it on immediately upon opening the box (I should have read the online advice for applying sunless tanning products, I would have known to exfoliate my skin prior ... but it worked fine without all that hassle). I put on rubber gloves, because I was worried about it absorbing into my hands too much (probably a senseless fear). I proceeded to lather my body up with the lotion, which felt creamy and hydrating. There didn't seem to be much scent to it, so I was hopeful all the "stinky" hype was just that, hype. Then, I had to walk around the house naked until the lotion dried ... about 15 minutes. It was still a little tacky and I was worried about it damaging my clothes or causing streaks, but it worked out fine. If you don't mind being a nudist, this product is definitely for YOU. I felt weird walking around, unable to sit while this product dried. But knowing I was on a time limit for a tan helped motivate me. Within about 2-3 hours I already noticed some color change. It looked very natural, a light light tan. So I was hopeful. For 6-10 hours, I made sure NOT TO GET WET anywhere on my body (with the exception of my hands, because who can go 6-10 hours without washing their hands??!!). That is what I read online about sunless tanners (which I read after I applied, oops). Anyway, it takes 6-10 hours for the product to begin the chemical changes with your dead skin cells to create the tan-like appearance of your skin. If you bathe or wash the lotioned parts off before 6-10 hours, you will stop the chemical change from happening and not get tan. The smell was starting to be obvious within about 5-6 hours after applying. So obviously the chemical change was happening as expected. I didn't like that smell. It smelled like a fake body odor. Like someone rubbed a bunch of sweat all over my body and let it dry. Nope, not something I'd want to smell all the time, but I dealt with it, I was on a tan-deadline. I used the product again that evening, again, because I was on a deadline. Then went to bed after prancing around naked another 10-15 minutes (which hubby didn't mind), but the not being able to sit down part was difficult. If I sat, the lotion would rub off my legs, so I stood and hid in the shadows as much as possible. Finally, I was dry and dressed. Since I slept for about 8 hours, I was able to shower in the morning, YAY! Washed off that stench. Then, the day of the festival, I looked radiant in my off-the-shoulder shirt. LOVED the results, just not the process. So, I will use this product again, but not on a regular basis. It works. And the light tan lasted about 5 days before wearing off. ... show more

My Low-Maintenance “Sun-Kissed” Shortcut in a Bottle

Every year around this time I have the same realization. It goes something like: “Wow, I am glowing… like printer paper.” I’m naturally pretty fair, and since I work from home and edit videos like a little cave goblin most days, the sun and I are not exactly best friends. I wanted a tiny bit of color without committing to a full self-tan ritual that involves mitts, exfoliating schedules, and praying I don’t look like a streaky pumpkin. Enter this Jergens Natural Glow +Firming lotion. I grabbed it because I wanted something lazy-girl simple. Like… slap it on after a shower and go live my life simple. And honestly? That’s exactly what this is. The first night I used it, I treated it like regular lotion. No ceremony. Just rubbed it in while watching YouTube and went to bed. No weird sticky feeling, no “don’t sit on anything white for 6 hours” panic. It dries like a normal moisturizer, which already puts it ahead of a lot of self tanners I’ve tried. By day two or three, I started noticing that “wait… did I go outside?” glow. Nothing dramatic. No fake tan line energy. Just a soft, believable warmth to my skin like I’d been on a weekend walk instead of glued to my desk chair. It builds slowly, which I actually prefer. You’re not waking up shocked at a new shade of yourself. It’s more like your skin quietly levels up overnight. The lotion itself feels nice too. Not greasy, not heavy. Just a solid everyday moisturizer. My legs especially felt smoother and less dry, which is a win even without the tan. Now about the “firming/cellulite” claims. I’m realistic. No lotion is out here performing wizardry. But I will say my skin looks a little smoother and more even overall. Maybe it’s the hydration, maybe it’s the subtle color helping blur things out. Either way, I’ll take it. The scent is light and clean. Not that classic self-tanner smell that sneaks up on you halfway through the day. Nobody at the grocery store is going to clock you as “recently marinated.” If there’s any catch, it’s just that you have to be consistent. Skip a few days and the glow slowly fades. But that’s kind of the point with a gradual tanner. For around $10, it’s honestly such an easy, low-effort way to look a little more alive and a little less “indoor plant.” Final thoughts: If you want a deep vacation tan, this isn’t it. But if you want a subtle, healthy glow with zero drama and the bonus of good hydration, this stuff is a staple. Every time I have a wedding to attend I try out some new way to bring my darker Sicilian olive tone back to life after a lengthy winter with no sun in America. I was shocked by how much of a difference just one application made. It was commented on by every person I ran into that day. I didn't realize it was also a firming lotion when purchased, but after my second day of application I'm noticing some of that firmness already. Ultimately, this has been one of my favorite and least expensive routes to quickly prepare for a wedding, or really anything coming up soon. I think if you can afford something more effective with less unfortunate quirks, I would personally go that route. It's certainly not a product I would want to bash, as it seems to work very well, but does heed caution in my opinion. A few inconveniences: -It is completely odorless as advertised.... at first. I'm quite active, so it seemed if I did anything physical, this really fake and kind of nasty smell just began emanating from me. I thought I might just be overthinking because I had once tried the fake spray tan and it was so familiar, but you've got to love children for their honesty in telling you that you definitely smell weird... So I showered and the tan diminished greatly, yet still impressive after one application. -It says to wait "several minutes" prior to putting on clothing. Trust me, you will want to wait much longer! I'm only 5'2" (5'3" in boots) and although my body is quite athletic and small, I was blessed with being voluptuous as well. The first application made a whole bunch of odd lines and such since I put loose clothes on about 10 minutes after. I also noticed that hours later when I walked to the market, you could tell where my canvas/hemp tote bags were carried on my arms... With the second application it seems I needed nearly 20 minutes for it to fully dry, and truth be told I won't be able to see if this was enough time to not add more strange lines, etc. until I'm home -It also says to use "all over" but I might caution with the face... Mine got much darker than my body so it looks a bit silly. I've also noticed that I'm starting to have a myriad of blackhead looking pimples. I get one zit around menstruation so this was strange and I opted to do body only for the second application. Also, if you wear glasses - you will definitely want to wait quite a long time before putting them back on unless you want marks all over your nose. ... show more

I have been using Jergens Natural Glow all summer and love how it looks and feels on my skin. I am naturally fair and this product gives my skin a beautiful, natural-looking golden glow. It is hydrating and removes the itchiness and ashy appearance dry skin often causes. It may be a bit more expensive than other lotions, but well worth it. Natural-Looking Glow Without the Sun

I absolutely love this moisturizer! It gives me a beautiful, natural-looking tan after just one application. I’m naturally very fair-skinned, and because I’ve had skin cancer more than once, I avoid the sun as much as possible and always wear sunscreen. This is the perfect way to get that healthy summer glow without exposing my skin to harmful UV rays. The color looks very natural—there’s no orange tint at all, which is a huge plus. The scent is also much more pleasant than most self-tanners I’ve tried. I apply it before bed, let it develop overnight, and rinse it off in the morning. Slight tan, not alot of color

Very subtle color, takes a couple of applications to notice any color. Needs to be re- applied every three or four days also. Kind of a weak gradual tanner but not bad for the money.

Being fair skinned I only burn so I'm happy with a little safe color. I feel like I've been out in the sun tanning. Only used on legs but it looks tan to me. It's not really dark but I like it. No terrible smell either.
