Auto darkening helmet worked great. I was a little paranoid exposing my eyes to an unknown auto darkening screen but it went dark instantly. No burned retinas! I can still see! The welder works great on thin 18 gauge sheet metal coupons that I’m practicing with. I had no issues with the ground cable that others complained about. I intend to use this primarily on 16 gauge exhaust pipe and it seems it will work fine for that.

The price is incredible for its capability. I was able to weld a replacement brake mount for my 150cc scooter, and weld the 2 main beams of my kid’s playset together in the first week! It already paid for itself in each of these repairs.

So I went to unbox this and couldn’t get a good video because the ground clamp is off of the cable and the copper crimp is broke I did get the helmet assembled but the lens is insufficient to not burn my eyes so I ordered a new hood

Only reason it didn’t receive 5 stars is because the instructions didn’t come in English and hooking the ground was weird. If you’re a dabbler and want to just spot weld stuff this is absolutely fine. If you have been welding for the past 40 years then buddy you already know.
