Outstanding kit! A little smaller than I anticipated (I didn't read the dimensions very carefully) but still large enough for my little projects. Very effective.. a 20 lb. propane tank is predicted to last through 20+ sessions with the furnace. Gets the crucible hot in under a minute, ready to melt aluminum in about 5 minutes. Very effective insulation--that kaowool is fascinating and keeps the furnace exceptionally light. The welds of the attachments such as the feet, inlet tube, and handles are very high quality. The number of accessories accompanying the furnace is very generous. I'd invest in some longer, heavier tongs for the crucible than what comes with it though. The bigger tongs will help you pour more easily. A little discoloration on the lid after the first use, from the soot of the cans I was melting, haven't noticed any warping, but the instructions say be prepared for a little bit of shape shifting over time. The hose from the tank to the wand is very high quality and the valve/regulator at the connection end is very effective. Very good gas flow rate for high temperatures.

The media could not be loaded. Works great, though my gold would not melt down for some reason even though it was glowing bright red and obviously 2k degrees

I got this for $119 On a discount. However it's very small. The last one that I got from this company has melted hundreds of pounds of copper and is still working but it's getting weak.

Our first experiment taught us much and failed miserably. But the furnace worked great! Did you know that zinc melts at a lower temp than copper? And that zinc evaporates at a lower temp than copper melts. And if you melt something made of zinc and copper, the zinc will start to evaporated before the copper melts? We learned that. Great kit overall. After a few months, I can't seem to melt copper, and I need a new stone disc for the bottom. If you're just planning on melting aluminum, you'll get a ton of melts out of it. I'm ready for a new one after 6 months of bi-weekly use.
