These are fine. I've used more cushiony (is that even a word?) styles but the problem with them is the cushioning wears thin after a time and need to be replaced so I decided to give these a try. I don't regret my decision. They're different, so it's just a matter of a personal adjustment I need to make. Hoping they stand the test of time otherwise I'll go back to the spongy style. What I LOVE about them is they don't slide around on the paddle shaft. Locate them where you want them to be and they stay. Like that. Can't totally attest to durability because I've only used them 4 times but I have other things made of silicone and it seems a durable material. No reason to think this would be any different. These feel great on your hands and they weren’t very difficult to put on my wife’s aluminum paddle. Definitely would recommend to anyone with a smooth finish paddle! Definitely gonna be keeping the ones I put on my wife’s. However, I have a Carlisle Magic Plus carbon fiber paddle and the paddle has a rougher finish on it. Virtually impossible to put this grip on it. Which was saddening cause I put about an hours worth of hard effort trying to get them to work. I got them partly down the paddle but couldn’t get them to go any further. I quite literally had to cut them off of the paddle. So, all in all, an awesome grip but only if you have a smooth finish paddle. ... show more

Great grip and no lore slide = no more blisters. Follow directions tips though and put on with paddle in the water. Get water in the grip or you might be there an hour tryig to slide it on a standard kayak paddle

You have to get them wet, but they do go on quite easily once they are in the water. Comfortable to grip, and they do not move once in place.
