It serves its purpose. Thick and very warm. The hood and bodice have an extra lining in fleece. It the type of outfit to wear when you're under the weather or when it's really really cold outside. It's not meant to be stylish. It very much reminds me of Sylvester Stallone's sweat suit that he wore while bouncing around during his boxing moves in the movie Rocky. Kinda cute in a quirky way. I wear either a M or L (5'2", 130 lbs, prefer roomy). I purchased both and was fine with the M. As for the Mauve color: I liked the color depicted in the photo and I was in love with Mauve when it was very popular during the '80's. Unfortunately when it was received the color looked to me to be on the ruddy-orangey side. Not a flattering color on me. So I'm returning the two Mauves and ordered the dark gray in M. I think a dark color will appear neutral and a light color may be reminiscent of a tanned Pillsbury Doughboy I took off a star due to the color issue and as a heads up for women to look elsewhere if they are looking for a track or leisure suit that is light and slimming. This is a heavyweight sweatsuit and the jacket is lined with fleece. I am 5'2" and weight 148 - I ordered a large and a Medium because I didn't know which size would work for me. I tried on the medium first and it was plenty roomy. I could probably even wear a small, but I wanted it a little big to allow for shrinkage.
