I was hesitant to use anything purporting to actually reduce or remove dark spots, but this actually works. After one tube some spots on my face are nearly invisible. Others, that I'd had for a longer time and were darker (on my arms and hands) are slowly reducing in appearance. Be patient, it takes time, but it actually works. The formula itself is lightweight, with no scent. I haven't looked up each ingredient via EWG, so I can't vouch for the safety of each of the ingredients, but in general they look acceptable. Squalane does keep the skin soft.

I’ve been using the AXIS-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum for about a month now, and honestly, I’m pretty happy with it. I got it mainly to help fade some leftover acne marks on my cheeks and jawline, and while the spots are still there, they’ve definitely lightened up a bit and my skin just looks healthier overall. It gives me a nice glow without feeling greasy, and it layers well under my moisturizer and sunscreen. The serum feels really lightweight and absorbs fast, which I love because I hate products that just sit on my skin. It hasn’t caused any irritation or breakouts, which is always a risk with new products, especially for my combination skin. I also like that it’s vegan and doesn’t have a strong smell. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is because it works slowly. If you’re looking for overnight results, this probably isn’t it. But if you’re consistent and pair it with other good skincare habits, it’s a solid choice for gradual brightening and hydration. For the price and how gentle it is, I’d definitely repurchase. It feels like one of those products that just keeps your skin on the right track.

First Thoughts 12/4/25: Interesting texture. Has a slight smell that reminds me of vapor rub, doesn’t bother me, but I think it’s worth noting. I am used to liquid serums, this one pump out in a stiff (gel-adj.) texture but then melts into the skin like a normal serum. The size and the amount of product have impressed me. After one use, I awoke with some dark marks noticeably faded. I am impressed. Will update after consistent use. Update 1/6/26: After (fairly) consistent use for the past month, I can attest to the fact it does fade dark spots and give your skin a glowy look. So far, I still stand by my initial review. I did end up almost finishing the full tube in one month, but I have been using it morning and night (for the most part). I am going to repurchase and use the serum for another month before I can determine if it something I want to keep in my skincare routine. Will update after continual use.

⸻ What I Like The idea behind this serum is solid: a targeted formula designed to brighten and reduce the appearance of dark spots while giving the skin a glow. The packaging feels premium and the texture of the serum is lightweight, which makes it easy to layer under moisturizers or oils if it agrees with your skin. ⸻ What Could Be Better Unfortunately, for me this serum missed the mark in some key areas. Most importantly, it caused a burning sensation—especially around sensitive areas—which makes it unsuitable for those with sensitive or reactive skin types. That alone would be enough reason to approach with caution, but the irritation wasn’t offset by results. Despite consistent, “religious” usage over time, I didn’t observe any noticeable improvement in dark spots or hyperpigmentation. If a product’s primary claim is to reduce dark spots, that’s the main benefit you want to see, and in this case it just didn’t deliver. The glow effect was minimal and didn’t stand out compared to other serums I’ve tried. ⸻ Overall Thoughts I’d recommend doing a patch test (on your inner arm or jawline) before applying this serum to your entire face—especially if you have sensitive skin. For me, it was too irritating and ultimately ineffective for diminishing dark spots. If brightening and dark spot correction are your top goals, there are other serums on the market that may be both gentler and more effective.
