Description

Unlike other low-cost micro RC crawlers, the fully equipped, ready-to-run Axial SCX24 Base Camp doesn't cut the price by compromising performance. Instead, it packs plenty of trail-proven engineering into its 1/24 scale size, including a steel chassis and ball bearings — plus a Spektrum radio, charger, and LiPo battery for reliable power and precise control. And it's still the best value available in a micro rock crawler! That makes the SCX24 Base Camp a great starting point for RC newcomers who need an affordable first vehicle. But it's also much more than that. Are you an experienced RC driver who'd like to give crawling a try without breaking the bank? Here's your rig. Need a solid but economical platform that you can build up into your “dream” micro rock crawler? This is it. Axial offers a ton of upgrade parts that you can add to raise performance to whatever heights you want to reach. The Axial SCX24 Base Camp is equally at home maneuvering over challenging indoor obstacles and scenic outdoor trails. It's ready to take on any terrain that other Axial SCX24 micro rigs can, whether you're crawling across your desk, through the living room, or over a backyard trail built from a few holes, rocks, and twigs. With the SCX24 Base Camp, almost any location can become the scene for a rock crawling adventure. With water-resistant electronics, the SCX24 platform is ready for adventure indoors or out. Full-time 4WD and a 3-link front/4-link rear suspension let you confidently muscle this micro crawler over rough, risk-filled trails. Worm gears on the axles increase the ground clearance. Realistic steel frame rails on the C-channel chassis stand up to hard knocks. The proven SCX24 suspension tackles bumps, rocks, and stays stable over tough terrain. Topping it all off is a durable, factory-finished body with contemporary truck styling. One of the most successful micro platforms of all time, the Axial SCX24 is also one of the best values in the RC crawling hobby. Inside the box, along with the assembled and finished rig, you'll find a Spektrum SLT2 2.4GHz transmitter, 350mAh LiPo battery, and handy USB charger. Even the AA transmitter batteries are included. For big adventures in micro RC crawling — at a small price — come to the SCX24 Base Camp! Axial SCX24 Base Camp 4WD RC Rock Crawler RTR Features Spektrum SLT2 2.4GHz radio system In The Box Needed to Complete Its budget-friendly price makes the SCX24 Base Camp an ideal start in RC crawling that doesn’t compromise on features and performance. For experienced drivers, it’s a proven platform at a low cost that can be upgraded into the micro rig of your dreams. Factory-painted and detailed, the durable polycarbonate Base Camp body offers exciting, contemporary scale truck looks. Officially licensed, high clearance Demello off-road bumpers add to the realism. The included Dynamite 88T 030-size brushed electric motor provides the right amount of torque for making steep climbs. It's mated to a stamped aluminum motor mount to keep flex to a minimum and help protect the gears. The front and rear differentials each house a worm screw and worm gear setup to get the power to the axles and create higher ground clearance. You can take the SCX24 Base Camp into rough terrain with confidence. Like the larger SCX10 platform, the 1/24 scale SCX24 chassis features rugged steel C-channel frame rails with bracing to keep everything intact and aligned. The front and rear axles consist of a two-piece, molded composite solid axle design. For optimal handling, the SCX24 suspension features a 3-link front and 4-link rear setup. Steel front and rear axles, front stub axles, and dogbones provide the durability needed to keep the SCX24 Base Camp going during tough climbs and over rough trails. The rear suspension geometry uses a 4-link design which is optimized to reduce axle steer and torque twist. The front and rear drive shafts are splined and sleeved to allow for maximum suspension travel while keeping the power to the wheels. It may be small, but the SCX24 Base Camp makes no compromises in features. There are no bushings here. The drivetrain spins freely on sealed cartridge bearings throughout the entire vehicle. Officially licensed Falken Wildpeak M/T compound tires increase ground clearance over rough surfaces and improve the grip on slippery trails. They're mounted on officially licensed Black Rhino one-piece wheels for added scale looks.

  • The perfect size for couch crawling
Color: Blue
I shouldn’t have waited to get one of these. We have so many vehicles and this is truly the best indoor one. The WLtoys k969s are great for ripping around the kitchen, but you can only do that so many times on a rainy day. With this little thing, everything is a crawler course. It’s so easy to make obstacles: books, boxes, other toys, the couch, the beds, pillows, the wife and the cat. It crawls it all, it is surprisingly capable and agile. We have some 1/10, 1/12, 1/16, 1/18 scale crawlers and they are all simply just too big for indoors and then the 1/30 scale and smaller really aren’t all that capable without carefully planning to lay things out. This thing handles all the tumble wumbles and because it is lightweight it survives some pretty knarly stuff. My youngest has also taken to this where the larger trucks he often gets frustrated. I wasn’t planning to, but it’s probably going to get a brushless setup, as I do notice some occasional cogging and hesitation. I’m sure that’s going to be the gateway to axles and everything else, so I’m going to get a couple more before that happens. Biggest surprise, my wife wants in, completely thought she was joking until I saw a pink base camp sitting on the kitchen table. What you get for your money is truly a bargain, and it makes it very reasonable to have a family fleet. Fun for the family, old and young, just wish we had done it sooner. ... show more

  • Great RC!!
Color: Blue
This little truck is a beast. I think its Axials best out of the box truck. It crawls amazingly and looks awesome. The one downside to this truck vs others is that it does not have any working lights on it. Its not a big deal but It would look even better with lights, and it is a bummer not having them when we do night drives while camping. Other than that, it is great, durable, relatively quick when in the 100 setting and it is the most affordable of the SCX lineup. The Base Camp is my third SCX and it climbs better than then my power wagon and keeps up with my modified gladiator. Great truck, buy one and you wont regret it. ... show more

  • SCX24 Base Camp SCX24 Base Camp
Color: Blue
The Axial SCX24 Base Camp is a fun, fully assembled RTR crawler with everything you need in the box. It has a decent battery life. It could use better shocks, they're a bit bouncy which hinders control on rough terrain. There's a ton of upgrades readily available to fit SCX24's, so you can build it up however you want it. I've added quite a few to mine. ... show more

  • Great starter to slowly build up.
Nice starter truck if you want to build off it. I purchased the base camp because I knew I was going to replace most of the truck with aftermarket parts. Works just fine as is but I wanted mine to be able to do a lot more and the sky’s the limit on what you can do with these with the aftermarket support they have. ... show more

  • Melted charger after seconds of use/seller would not replace damaged product Melted charger after seconds of use/seller would not replace damaged product
The truck worked great, super cool, the charger however, became so hot after seconds of charging (first time use), it burned my husband’s finger and it was starting to melt and bubble (shown in attached photo). I messaged the seller, explained the situation, provided the picture and requested a new charger, but after wasting my time asking several back and forth questions over the next day or so, the seller pushed me off and told me to contact the manufacturer claiming “it would be faster” for me to do the multiple extra steps of contacting the manufacturer and having to again explain everything then for him to get a new charger and send it to me. Beware, if u have any issues this seller is not going to make it right. ... show more

  • Very Fun Little Rc Truck. Very Fun Little Rc Truck.
Color: Blue
Very Fun Little Rc Crawler I would suggest not using the Spektrum Battery and Charger since those seem to be junk. The Battery I use is the Small Lectron Pro 7.4V 450mah 2s 40C High Performance Lipo Battery with a PH2.0 Connector and for the Charger I use the Blue B6AC+ 80W Hobby Charger its so much better and it comes with a Balance Connector that I recommend using. My Man Corey at the Hobby Shop hooked me up real good with this Bundle I haven't had a Single issue with the Charger and Battery they Both run phenomenaly. You'll see the Charger and the Battery that I was hooked up with I listed a Picture for Reference. :) Lectron Has always been a very good built battery it definitely has a bit of improvement in Power and I haven't really upgraded the Truck at all the Only Upgrade I did was get a set of 40mm Injora Black Shocks which are fully adjustable and it raised the truck up a couple more inches for better clearance, I haven't added any accessories to the Bed because the Body is Beautiful and I'd hate to ruin it by gluing accessories to it. I used a Penny to fit between the groove of the height adjustment thing on the shock for a little more height and it works great. Durability seems great it feels better than the Original C10 in my opinion only thing is the body seems slightly bigger than the C10 so its a tiny bit top heavy if you were to adjust any Injora Shocks that you put on it. Also I am running the Injora shocks with the tiny bit of oil they came with and the medium spring and it feels great without having to add any shock oil. I have not had any issues with them sticking. I'd say get this little guy and you'll have some fun with it. Also I'm not competitive or anything I just got mine to have a little bit of fun after work or just chilling around at home. The Licensed Tires could have been a little wider thats my only complaint. Also the Body gives me Toyota Hilux Vibes the Front lights and Tail lights definitely have a bit of a Toyota Hilux look to them. I don't see Ram at all. ... show more
