Description

About Us Axial is where RC adventures begin! With an Axial radio control rig, you’re sure to have the most exciting and enjoyable off-road RC adventures possible — whether you’re exploring trails while hiking with friends and family or joining other RC rock crawling fans for a club outing or radio control crawling event. The first RC rock crawling vehicles appeared in the early 1980s but only looked the part. It took Axial, founded in 2005 and based in California, to incorporate full-scale off-road design elements into the RC rigs that now represent the best in the radio control crawler category. Axial takes special pride in combining authentic looks with realistic and reliable operation. We develop partnerships with the most popular full-size automotive brands to maximize the scale appeal of our radio control rigs to full-size off-road enthusiasts. Overview Every weekend, groups of off-road rock crawling enthusiasts gather to follow trails toward destinations far removed from the modern world. Their journey's end will reward them with beautiful views that only a select few ever see. But the best memories are made during the journey itself. Within this community are the extreme crawlers. Where others see rocks, roots, and barriers, they see puzzle pieces that form a line to maneuver up, over, and beyond. It doesn't matter if most people would have trouble getting through on foot, let alone on wheels. Extreme crawlers have such a deep connection to their rig that they know when it can be pushed to new limits. The 1/24 scale Axial AX24 XC-1 speaks to the extreme crawlers, and to everyone who wants to be one. With the AX24 XC-1, you'll be able to crawl over bigger obstacles and pull tougher lines than you can with any other 1/24 scale rig. The new AX24 platform provides stability, durability, high clearance, generous articulation, and everything else extreme rock crawling enthusiasts need to overcome the impossible. Flat chassis side plates with rock sliders help you move through tight formations. Long travel shocks, a 4-link suspension, and worm gear drivetrain combine for easy handling, dependable power delivery, and the ability to clear rough terrain. Then there's the unique AX24 4-wheel steering system. Following tightly to the line that leads from "here" to "there" has never been easier. Three transmitter-activated steering modes — for no rear tire input, mirrored rear tire input, or "crab crawl" — provide the flexibility you need to maneuver over or around almost anything in your way. This system gives all drivers new terrain conquering ability! In 2007, Axial broke new ground in extreme RC crawling with the 1/10 scale AX10. If you're a long-time Axial fan, you'll love how the AX24 XC-1 pays homage to that legendary rig with a replica body and livery plus Rockster wheels and Rock Lizards tires. The AX24 XC-1 isn't just for experienced RC rock crawling hobbyists (though you'll enjoy how it takes on even steeper inclines and bigger obstacles than our SCX24 platform rigs). Newcomers will find it to be a fun and highly capable mini crawler to run on indoor or outdoor courses. It's also a great way for full-scale off roading enthusiasts to exercise and refine their skills. Get ready to push past boundaries and conquer more trails with the Axial AX24 XC-1 Rock Crawler RTR. Because it's fully assembled and equipped, you can start today. LED LIGHTS In The Box Needed to Complete Push past boundaries and conquer more trails with the Axial AX24 XC-1 Rock Crawler RTR. Unique 4WS modes, extreme articulation, oversize tires, and more let you crawl over bigger obstacles and pull tougher lines than any other 1/24 scale rig. Features The unique AX24 4-wheel steering system gives all drivers new terrain conquering ability. Three transmitter-activated modes — no rear tire input, mirrored rear tire input, and "crab crawl" — provide the flexibility you need to maneuver over or around anything in your way. The durable side plate chassis is engineered to allow high clearance and generous articulation. Angled rock sliders also help you maneuver past rocks, roots, ledges, and other large obstacles. Driving the AX24 XC-1, you go where you want to go! Longer, 51mm coilover shocks are new for the AX24 platform. Mounted at a lay back angle in the side plate chassis, they allow increased articulation to keep the wheels on the ground and maximizing traction over uneven surfaces. The suspension geometry uses a 4-link design that works together with the AX24 side plate chassis to increase articulation and reduce axle steer and torque twist. The front and rear axle housings each have a worm screw and worm gear setup to get power to the axles and create higher ground clearance. The hinged body system provides fast, easy access to on-board components. Its hook-and-loop hinge design lets you reach the chassis and battery simply by swinging the body up. In 2007, the 1/10 scale Axial AX10 platform revolutionized RC crawling. The 1/24 scale AX24 XC-1 pays homage to that groundbreaking rig with a replica body and livery, plus 1.0" Rockster wheels and 2.44" Rock Lizards tires for nostalgic looks and trail-taming traction. Axial AS-1 servos are mounted just above the axle, with servo savers that allow for steering accuracy while protecting the servo gears in the event of a bind or impact. The Dynamite 88T brushed electric motor provides the right amount of torque to conquer steep climbs. It's mated to a stamped aluminum motor mount to keep flex to a minimum and protect the gears.

  • Awesome little crawler, well worth the money
Color: Orange
Wow this thing is extremely capable right out the box. The AX24 is my first rc crawler and I was trying to find something that made the most out of the space I have available in my yard and it did just that. I've ran this thing through mud and through grass(cut grass) and it trugs along like a champ. All the bearing on the truck are real steel bearings so that's cool. The battery last a good while and charges in like 30 mins. I've managed to crawl up some seemingly impossible lines with this truck and does really good with the slow crawling. Now all this said the only thing I dont care for is the way the body mounts. Its velcro and that's no problem but it's just awkward to position correctly. Also it does suffer from a bit of bounce when going over things at speed. All these things are very minor in the overall experience. This little truck hasint let me down let. If your looking to get into Rc like I was the AX24 is a great place to start. ... show more

  • Best money i've ever spent on a RC
Color: Green
I loved This thing so much.I bought a second one. Great Value for the money. Looks amazing. It seems like about an hour of battery life. Very good quality.Nothing has broken on it yet. Easy to use. Lots of ways to modify it. Day four wheel staring is a real game changer. A huge advantage over rear wheel steering. These are my favorite r c trucks of all times. Absolutely delighted with this purchase. ... show more

  • Great little crawler
Color: Orange
I've been working on 1/24 scale crawlers since Losi came out with the Trail Trekker and still have one running now and then got hooked on the SCX24 platforms which i always wanted to 4WS one of them then I ran across this little guy which I quickly snatched up 4 of them for Christmas presents for my grandsons the son-in-law and myself. I upgraded all the tires, motors and done some heavy beadlocks which improved them all over stock which wasn't all that bad out of the box. I've done brass upgrades like knuckles, different cover, skid, 60mm links and then longer steel drivelines, overdrive gears in the front and a Treal aluminum differential housing and still have more parts going on it. This thing is a little beast now. I'll post pictures after all my parts come in. ... show more

  • This crawler is perfect!
Color: Green
My son is 8 and has had very minimal time operating RC cars over the years. He was easily able to operate the crawler. We experimented with the different wheel settings with ease and found the preferred option. The battery—I bought two extra batteries in the case he ran it dead so we wouldn’t have to wait an hour in between charges. He played with the stock battery for approximately 30 minutes and it was still going. I decided to switch to a fully charged one because I read that it’s best not to run the battery until it’s dead. I highly recommend this crawler for anyone who doesn’t have a paved driveway. In addition to it operating fantastic over our rock obstacles and driveway—it easily drives through the grass! I am excited to upgrade it giving it a bit more weight so we can increase the incline without it tipping over. Recommend 10 out of 10!! ... show more

  • Inexpensive, but is well made.
Color: Green
This is only about $150. It includes everything, rc truck, transmitter, battery, and charger. It's ready to go. It drives great and is a lot of fun. One warning. In the Amazon listing, the "frequently bought together" shows 900 mah batteries. Don't buy these. They won't fit into the truck. Instead, buy the Urgenex 450mah batteries. These fit very well. The run time on these batteries is very long. I didn't time it, but I think I got at least 30 minutes of drive time. There's also a lot of after market upgrade parts that are available for this truck. You could almost build a total truck with nothing but after market parts. For the price, you will get your money's worth of fun out of it. ... show more

  • Cool, but lacking. Buy it on sale!
Color: Green
Leaving an honest review is important to me, because I want to know what I’m really buying. That being said, this little car is cool, but needs a lot of upgrades to really be anything more than that. The wheels are far too light. The tires aren’t very big, not at all sticky, and have way too much sidewall roll because there is no filler and the air just escapes. The motor is geared too high so it’s really hard to slowly crawl when you need it too. The steering servos are weak and need immediate replacement to really work. Any time the wheels are presented with opposing force they don’t have enough power to steer through the obstacle in sync. The stock articulation is just ok, not nearly enough for my preference, especially with the light wheels and tires. It rolls over all the time. The rock lights are neat. So far it seems very durable. It’s a cool toy, but be prepared to spend some money to really make it capable. I’d say for the full price it isn’t worth the money. Buy it on sale so there is room for upgrades. ... show more
