First off... I am not an avid water sports guy. I grew up going on a ski boat from time to time. I even inherited my dad's super small CO2 powered life-vest. When I got into kayaking, I wore that inherited vest with pride. it was small, allowed my arms to move freely and seemed great, until I actually checked to see if the thing would inflate. Come to find out, it was old, worn-out, and broke... not much of a life saving apparatus. So I went to find an acceptable lifejacket. The "normal" looking skiing ones are great for that purpose, but not comfortable in a kayak. But then I found this aweSafe jacket. It is made for kayaking. The back is higher so it doesn't impede with the backrest of the kayak. The arm holes allow full range of movement for paddling. And over all, it is very comfortable. Well done. This thing is amazing.

I wasn't sure how this life vest would feel when kayaking. It was comfortable!! It wasn't bulky at all and I cannot express how much I loved that I had mobility and not bulk by my neck. The straps stayed tight during movement and wasn't bulky when I sat down in the seat. In fact, I felt like I had a little extra support on my lower back. This is on the lower end when it comes to cost, I'm actually glad I didn't go with the high dollar life vests.

Light weight and surprisingly durable but bulky. I've worn it about 30 times over my drysuit and wetsuit. Now (that it's warm again) it just rides along on my SUP. The two pockets are kind of small so I put my phone in both pockets horizontally over zipper. The whistle cord should be sewn into the other pocket so it can be attached to the proper plastic mount, rather than dangle or (as I do) slide it over the seam. Overall, worth the purchase.

I bought this for kayaking relatively smooth waters. It fits well and is very adjustable. The material seems not great, but ok, that's why 4 stars. I would suggest to be very careful zipping because the fabric seems to want to get caught and I think it would tear fairly easily. Haven't tried it in the water and hope I never have to! I intend to stay INSIDE the kayak, but, you never know! Update: After using just a few times, the entire front ripped away from the zipper and the foam inside started to come out. I didn't realize it was like this until I was out on the water. I'm very glad I didn't have to depends on this PFD to save my life today. We'll see how they do with returns. I'm a little scared to try another one.
