  • Excellent take on two favorites
Great fit and fun for scooby dio lovers with a great game we love

  • Fun and family friendly
I love the original Betrayal at House on the Hill, and got this for my sister because we loved Scooby Doo growing up. There aren't any young kids in our family, but it was very well thought out to adapt the original game for new and young players. Part of the difficulty with Betrayal is the need to separate for the Haunt. In this version, the Haunt can be learned together, and you choose who plays the Monster. No one can be eliminated from the game, only stunned for a turn. I would also say that so far, the Haunts seem more balanced than the original. If you're a fan of Betrayal, there are a lot of rule differences, but all of them make sense thematically and help make the game kid-friendly. There's also a nice summary page in the rulebook that outlines the major differences. If you haven't played Betrayal, the rulebook is comprehensive and you'll pick it up pretty quick! ... show more

  • Perfect gift for the Scooby Fan in your life!
Huge on Scooby-Doo related things, and Betrayal at House on Haunted Hill is easily my favorite board game. If you're buying for the sole purpose of a brand new Betrayal game, then you will likely be disappointed as it is a very watered down version of the original board game, however if you love Scooby Doo, you will enjoy that each of the scenarios are based on actual episode from the original "Scooby Doo! Where are you?" cartoon! Would've loved if the characters were models like that of the original game, however it is overall aesthetically pleasing! For Scooby Fans, a must have game that I recommend for kids 10 and up or adults who love the show. For Betrayal fans, this version makes it relatively difficult to be the traitor so, I would suggest some personal tweaks such as removing scooby snacks or adding 1 to all types of rolls to balance out the difficulty. ... show more

  • Fun, but cheaply made.
The game is fun and is a great micro-version of the normal Betrayal game with lots of fun Scooby Doo fan service and a streamlined version of the rules that makes it easier for beginners and children. Be warned though the components are MUCH cheaper. The character cards in particular started getting torn up after a single game. ... show more

  • LOVE THIS GAME. Good intro for kids to prep for the Betrayal at the House on the Hill Game.
We loved this game. We already liked the more complex Betrayal at the House on the Hill game. This simplifies things, but only a little bit, so the game mechanic is not lost. It is good for older kids, not the little ones. Box says 8+ for age- I agree and add that it depends on the emotional/ behavioral maturity of the 8yr old. Our 8yr old in question probably should wait a year. We test played it 2x before deciding who we should invite to the table to play. We will plan on running a different game for the younger kids. I loved the Scooby Doo theme and so did my older son who watched the show. For kids that never watched Scooby Doo, it might be less exciting. ... show more

  • The scooby family fun
Just like house on the hill it's a great game just because. But here you add the flavor of playing your beloved scooby gang. It's much more friendly and designed for kids as well as adults making this a great addition to any household with a passion for boardgames. My patients love this game. I wholeheartedly recommend this game! ... show more

  • A Spooky Fun Twist on a Classic – Perfect for Family Game Nights!
Betrayal at Mystery Mansion with Scooby-Doo is a fun, spooky twist on the classic board game! The Scooby-Doo theme adds a nostalgic touch, and the gameplay is engaging, with plenty of twists and turns. I love how each playthrough feels different, and the mix of strategy and mystery keeps everyone on their toes. The game is easy to learn but offers plenty of depth, making it enjoyable for both younger and older players. It's a perfect addition to family game nights or Scooby-Doo fans looking for a new challenge! ... show more

  • Wonderfully simplified reskin of Betrayal at House on the Hill
I love the original, but it gets a little slow and convoluted sometimes. Also, I have some friends that wouldn't appreciate the darker, violent tone of it. With this game, we get to play with a theme we all already love and a slightly simplified ruleset that makes it easier to teach. It's still not the simplest game ever, but people who play some games outside of old-fashioned games should be able to pick this up easily. With the rules change, you also don't suddenly have to become the betrayer if you don't want to. Because all of the stories have a completely different character being the bad guy (just like in the show), there isn't a "betrayer". It's just that one of the players now has to switch to a different role. ... show more
