  • Fantastic switch for a Desktop and Laptop / 2 Monitors
I just received this switch today so I can't attest to reliability, but the functions of this device are fantastic. Installation was easy with all cables needed for video and power included in the box. The switch supports two monitors and two computers. One computer (desktop) is connected to the device with 1 HDMI cable and 1 DP cable. Which is perfect because that is how most modern graphics card are configured. The second computer (laptop) is connected through a single USB-C cable which is also perfect for me as my laptop has no other display outputs. The USB-C to the laptop also provides wired networking (Laptop only, not Desktop) I have both monitors set to 1080p/60hz on both computers. That seems to be the max that my laptop can achieve, and I set my desktop to match. My previous switch only supported HDMI which meant I needed a separate USB-C dongle to get HDMI to the switch. This setup is much easier and cleaner as far as cable management. The push button on the front switch not only the displays but all the USB ports as well. 3 USB type A on the back with 2 more on the front as well as 1 USB type-C. The manual states that the USB-C on the front is for charging, which it does, but a USB-C flash drive works there as well. Switching monitors takes 4to6 seconds. It does seem to be quicker when the resolution and refresh rates are the same on both sides for each monitor. CONS: I really like this device so these things are just nit-picks not gaping holes 1) ALL the USB-C ports are switched. Being a switch, this is expected but I would like the option to make 1 or 2 dedicated to one machine. My concern here is that switching while performing a copy to/from a drive may produce errors. 2) The USB-C on the back only supports 60w. My laptop asks for more to work at full power so I still use the original power brick which takes up a second USB-C port on the laptop. ... show more

  • Nice, durable-feeling, perfect amount of ports
Have only had it for a day, but it does everything I wanted it to with very easy setup. I only have one monitor, but I can get 1440p 144hz on it which is great. I have keyboard, mouse, audio interface (SSL 2+) and ethernet plugged into it, as well as PC (using DP) and Macbook Pro, and all work seamlessly If it ever breaks I’ll update the review — if you’re reading this, it’s still working. ... show more

  • Lots of features- Challenging to make them all work.
This KVM has lots of features but the documentation that comes in the box, and the online documentation are minimal. The power supply is big and beefy at 120W. You will probably be able to power just about any laptop with this. I can confirm that it is capable of delivering 4K at 60 FPS- no problem. I had a few problems- My laptop initially connected to the monitor through the KVM. But it would not recognize the monitor when I switched back. Rebooting the laptop didn't help. Rebooting the KVM did. That's not in the troublshooting steps. Sadly, I can't seem to make my XBox work through this KVM. This was the reason I ordered the KVM. Note that when you push the switch button on the KVM, the device light changes, indicating that a switch is underway. A tone sounds. It then takes about 3 seconds before the switching actually completes. It would be a mistake to push the button more than once in 5 or six seconds thinking that it didn't actually signal a switch. Listen for the tone and wait. This think is built well. It's really designed for a laptop and a computer to share one or a pair of monitors (and a wired Keyboard and mouse.) I hope this review helps! ... show more

  • very nice and reliable KVM
I have a laptop and a desktop that I wanted to connect to my keyboard, mouse and large screen monitor at my desk. This turned out to be the perfect solution. I had tried a variety of docking stations but none really were reliable. I hooked up the laptop with the USB-C cord and the desktop with the USB-B cable and the display port cable. I plugged a powered hub into the input port on the front and away we went. The powered hub had all my inputs (barcode scanner, keyboard, wireless mouse and webcam). They switched between computers easily. The headphone jack on the front took the soundbar cable (but I want to look into the optical connection) and switched between computers (something that I did not have before). The box is well built and doesn't move around when you go to push the button to change computers. There is a clear indication as to which computer has the connection. Laptop is #1. I also us the SD card slot and it is handy to have that right up front also. One thing that was not clear to me in the instructions was the location for the input keyboard and mouse and other things to be switched. It turns out any of the ports that are not labeled IN or OUT are available. That means that all the connections can be on the back with front ports available to use for one time things like usb sticks. I am very pleased. ... show more

  • Great KVM Switch and even better customer service
I cannot get this to display on 2 screens for both my laptop and mini computer. I've tried multiple configurations and have not had any success. I can only get it to display off my laptop. I've tried the display port, I've tried the HDMI ports, I've tried every cable with no success. I just bought an HDMI to DP cable and hopefully that will help. We will see what happens when Amazon delivers it tomorrow. ***** Update: The seller reached out to me almost immediately after this post went live. They asked what my configuration was and I did tell them that I was using a docking station as my laptop no DP port. They told me not to use a docking station. Now that I think about it, this is also a docking station. So I unplugged everything and thought about what goes where and redid the configuration all over again. The issue I came across with as mentioned in my original post is that I did not have a DP port. I did buy an HDMI to DP port adaptor and worked perfectly. I am very pleased with this unit and the customer service is even better! Thank you! ... show more
