I put a new exhaust system on my 03 dakota and needed a nice tip to match. this is a really nice chrome tip, the only issue I had with it is the clamp that it comes with is just a little bit too weak. I actually had to buy 2 of these things because the first one fell off somewhere. so the clamp that it comes with is not strong enough to actually bend the tabs at the back to squeeze down around your tailpipe. for the second one I tried to tighten it down as much as I could. I just kept tightening it and at the tightest point I got it, it was still a little loose. so I tightened it some more and the head snapped right off the bolt. so I used a U-clamp and that worked pretty good since it's much stronger and I can put more torque into it to clamp those tabs at the back of the tip. ... show more

Not 2.5” ID it’s actually 2.75”ID when fully compressed. Wouldn’t work for my application since my exhaust is actually 2.5”OD going to be returning due to this!

I took my white Tacoma and went total stormtrooper on it. I added this black tail pipe extension to maintain the overall black and white theme. Looks great at first. After 500 miles though, the paint or powdercoat started coming off. When I installed it I sprayed the tailpipe prior to the new tip with black hi-temp paint to blend all the way out. The part I painted still looks great; this new extension not so much. I'll be stripping the remainder of the original black on the new extension and painting it myself.
