This worked well. I set it up for two house plants days before leaving for vacation, because I wanted to make sure that is works fine and it did. The only thing to be aware of is that when you set the timer, the setting does not remain displayed on the mini screen, so one is not sure if it is set properly. You have to press the reset button once to see it. Note it will repeat the same time 24 hrs after you set it up. So if you want the water to come on in the mornings, you have to set up the timer in the morning. I imagine the reason why the display does not stay on is to save on the battery power. I am not sure how long it will operate on one charge, but you can plug it in and run it that way. The instructions is sketchy. To setup up the timer, follow these instructions, press the reset button twice to reset it to zero, next press the day button more than once to select the number of days to lapse before the timer comes on. Press the time button several times to select how many seconds the timer will run. The timer will immediately run so you can see how it works, then wait for number of days for the next run. If you mess up, start over. Do a test run days before you leave to make sure it is working as required. I placed the suction hose in a large bucket and tied a metal nut to keep it from floating to the top. ... show more

The pump works ok. Programming it is not intuitive, as other reviewers already mentioned. The instructions manual, which is essential, because of how intuitive the pump is, is written in such a small font, that you need a magnifying glass to read it. The worst part is the smell of the hoses. I would not be airy if they are full of cancer causing chemicals. I ended up throwing out all of the hoses. I replaced them with regular clear silicone tubing. I would not purchase this product again. ... show more
