While this umbrella starts out smaller than the one I kept in the car, it expands to be quite a bit bigger. This one's much thicker, with multiple layers of fabric that let it also work as a sun parasol. The reflective strip works nicely, as shown in my picture taken using the flash. I kept waiting for it to rain so I'd know how well it worked wet. I even tried opening it in the shower before learning the stall isn't as big as this umbrella. Luckily after a few tries the umbrella's ribs went back to working correctly. I liked the unique way it helps close itself as well as open, so I even got more of these for the kids. It takes a fair amount of pressure to retract it, enough to dent the cardboard box I pushed it against to shut it once. These are large enough that they barely fit back into their cases, so I wish the cases had elastic or a larger opening like on some of my old umbrellas. I found it easier to just strap them and snap them, which is enough to make them fit in the car door pocket.

I love the size of this umbrella! Small, compact, easy to use whenever needed, and it doesn't weigh a ton. Made very well with good, durable materials, and it is more wind resistant than other umbrellas I've used in the past. Overall, great value for the price and recommended.

We live in California- my wife bought it for not only the rain but also for the sun. She doesn’t like burning sun and it’s important for her to keep it handy and can use it any time she needed one. For me, spring time has a lot of rain and I could used it for days that rains are really heavy. Good size for up to two people. Automatic opening with a push of a button - very well constructed with good materials.

This umbrella is of a size and quality that can easily carry around in a larger shoulder bag to have handy at any moment. It opens and closes with a strong snap, and I like have it folds upward when taken down, which hold water in the folds until you're some place where you can shake it out. The jointed ribs are nice in that they allow the umbrella to be folded, but the ribs are plastic with silver grommets at the joints, and I am not confident that the joints will hold up over time with regular use. The material is a lightweight rather-boring looking synthetic plastic-like material. Although this umbrella is advertised as having a reflective strip that makes it more visible in darkness, I was not able to see the strip at all in a totally dark room, so I fear it will not work outside in moonlight. And after I opened the umbrella the first time, I was not able to reduce it to a size in its folded form that would fit back into the umbrella cover. It's a good average everyday umbrella, however if the reflective strip is the selling point that caught your eye, it doesn't work, or at least it doesn't work in a dark room on the one I got.

It’s wonderful on many fronts except one important one - putting it back into the closed position requires my pushing against something very hard, I am not be able to close it with just my two hands which makes it awkward to take anywhere outside the home - how would I close this inside a grocery store unless I bend down and push against the floor as my hands pull the thing locked into shut? Don’t want to do that. It’s a beautiful, well made umbrella and I’m so sad it’s near impossible to use because it’s too hard to close with my human strength alone.
