I do a lot of electrical work on cars and sometimes the clips are so full of dirt, I have to use a pick tool to lift the locking tabs and pull to remove which works great but there are times it slips and digs into my skin. This tool would prevent that if the prongs weren’t so thick, it is difficult to get into certain connectors, I plan to grind it down and hopefully that works better for my application. It still works and is very sturdy metal, just too thick for automotive.

This is a great tool to have, but you can easily damage connectors if you are not careful. It's best used on pull back disconnect connectors, place the forks behind the tab and gently manipulate to release the tab, then pull on the connector with your hand, or gently with pliers, don't pull or push with this tool or you will break the connector. Used correctly, this works good, used incorrectly you will be throwing it out the door. It's not the strongest thing out there, steel is softer than on a lot of tools, but it doesn't need to be high strength to deal with plastic connectors. It's not a pry bar, don't use it as one. This tool is not for everything, actually it's rather limited in what is works on. There are about 50 different types of terminal disconnect tools out there, this is just one of them. If you have nothing, this is definitely one to get, but it's just a start. It works well on what it's designed for.

This automotive electrical connection removal tool is a handy tool to have in the tool box. It has a very sturdy slim design. The red grip makes for easy holding. The narrow design assists in getting in tight spots, and gets into the connectors quite easily. Seems to do it's job well, from connectors underneath seats to under the hood. I'm sure I'll be able to use it for a few other random automotive uses.
