I have been flying the Mavic Pro ever since it came out 4.5 years ago. DJI was the unchallenged leader at that time, but their success went to their heads and ended up giving less than stellar customer service. Because of this I promised myself that I will only do business with companies who care about and respond to their customers concerns. When I learned of the EVO-2 Pro 6k drone from Autel Robotics I was intrigued by its terrific specs. I did as much research on it as I could and was so impressed that I decided to take a chance and buy it. I have only had the EVO-2 Pro 6K drone for a few days now and because of bad weather have only been able to in get a few flights, but I am blown away at the quality of the camera in both the still images and the video! I also think that the drone flies fantastically. On the down side, the controller is awkward in my hands and makes very precisely controlled flights difficult for me. With my Galaxy S10 cell phone attached to the controller it is very back heavy. I fly all my remote aircraft using the "pinching" method where I hold both the sticks between my thumb and index finger. The way that Autel’s controller is configured and the unbalance of it makes this very difficult so I had to rig up a lanyard attached to the controller that I can put around my neck to help support the controller in my hands. I’m hoping that in the near future, Autel may design a type of tray assembly for people who are used to flying with a tray type set up that they can buy as an accessory for a reasonable price. There are a few small bugs still in the firmware that need to be ironed out, but they are very minor ones which should be easily correctable. Another BIG reason that I chose this drone from Autel is because they do not take “control” of the drone that I paid for to limit where I can and can’t fly. I am a grown adult, responsible for my actions and don’t need “big brother” looking over my shoulder telling me where I can & can’t fly like some other drone companies do. Autel would be wise to keep their firmware this way as it is a big reason why many people will buy their product, along with the fact that their EVO-2 Pro 6k drone is an outstanding aerial photography platform. The bottom line is that I could not be happier that I bought this drone! The photos & video from it are everything I have dreamed of for a long time.     • STURDY AND RELIABLE AIRCRAFT

I been a Mavic user for some time, but the specs of the EVO 2 Pro capture my attention. I bought and recommend the rugged bundle. It came in a great rugged case with 2 extra batteries, propellers, charger and SD Card. The gimbal cover has been improved and is easy to remove and replace. It has all the help you need to fly with GPS, Vision, RTH, Automatic Take Off, Accurate Landing and a pause button to stop a mission or any automatic fly modes. The all-around collision avoidance is a piece of art. The gimbal can be changed for the Infrared or the 8K, making it nice base drone with growing possibilities. No geofencing is a plus to fly in everywhere, but it alert, not forbidden, when in a restricted zone. Even without the inconvenience of flying zones of DJI, I follow the rules and ask for authorization. Uses the Autel Explorer for your mobile device but the controller has a nice screen and you can fly without the mobile phone or tablet, something not found with the Mavic 2 Pro. The Autel Explorer gives you more options and flying modes, but for a fast and relaxing fly, you don't need the phone. It synchronizes with AirData and keep all the information of the flight, the drone, the batteries and even a map of your flight with all the information, telemetry and animation. The great customer service tells me that Autel Robotics listen to the customer and can wait for the new releases of the firmware. Update 10/8/2020- One thing I want to trust of my drones is their the capability to return home when something goes wrong or simply lost communication with the aircraft. I sent my Evo 2 Pro down a valley for 3 miles and when the battery level reach critical levels, It came back making a perfect landing. It won my trust. The capacity of creating autonomous missions just with the Autel Explorer saves time. To complete my equipment I bought the Autel Charging Hub. It doesn't take too much space and charge the batteries in parallel or sequential. Great addition to my equipment. Very satisfied with the Evo 2 Pro. ... show more

This is a great drone and captures outstanding quality photos and video. I love the HDR video and the detail is amazing. Get extra memory cards though. I had a recording for 1 minute and 4 seconds on 6k mode - it wrote 934MB of data during that time. WOW! Now I have only had it up a few times and I say it’s not great for beginners because it is so advanced and sophisticated. I would say that the intelligent flight modes, while easy to use, should be experimented with and tried in a wide open area free of obstructions until you know exactly how the aircraft will perform under various conditions. I would recommend as much stick time as possible, especially if you want to use this for commercial use (With the appropriate sUAS FAA Part 107 Certification), before agreeing to do the work. It is big and flies fast and it’s good to know how the obstacle avoidance works - and what the limits are. During one of my flights, it attempted to use Accurate Landing but then because I got too close, it stopped and indicated obstacle avoidance active and accurate landing cancelled - it was detecting me! So just practice on it a lot and get to know it’s nuances. The mission planner function is absolutely outstanding and sets it apart from the competitors - you can preprogram a mission, including altitude, speed, gimbal angle, camera direction, and camera actions - like record, time lapse, etc. Lots of flexibility in planning! There are some videos on the AutelDrones site that are worth watching if you are considering this big bird! I see this being my Go To Drone for most of my Part 107 commercial work and can’t wait to fly again! ... show more
