Easy to install, it locks up my JKs front Dana 30 when torque is applied, and I didnt have any issues with it being in "SPEC" in terms of the inner spacing right out of the box. I also have one in the rear of my JKs Dana 44 and I had the same experience installing it as well, easy peezy. Only issue is that if you have this locker installed in both the front Dana 30, and the rear Dana 44, youll find that there will be more clacking and youll have to let off the throttle a bit more while street driving around right and left turns, but for a cheap effective way to lock up the axles offroad, Im willing to live with it. Does is last? Yes it does. I had the rear one for a year or so before I decided to throw another one into the front Dana 30 and I also opened up the pumpkin to check on it after a year and about a dozen or more offroad trips. When I have the windows rolled up, I dont even hear a click. ... show more

Easy install, make sure to follow the directions to the T. Locker works great. Don't even know it's there when in 2wd. No clicking or banking. In 4wd they make a lot of noise when turning. I used 1 pint of 80w gear oil and 1 pint of Lucas oil additive. It keeps it fairly quiet. I went with Aussie over Spartan because the Aussie was a direct fit and the Spartan has fine print saying that the JKU would need a new carrier. ... show more

    • Broke after 1 year ZERO customer support, warranty not worth crap
All the rave reviews and being made in America decided to buy the aussie. I had it installed by a professional jeep shop that's been around in years, and is familiar with lockers, Limit slip differentials and other traction devices for jeeps. On the two occasions I used it, it was great. just as advertised, locked when driving straight, in a turn it ratchets and allows tires to differentiate, so no tire scrub in a turn. I've had it about a year and it's started to ratchet (and loud) while driving in straight line. The ratcheting sound is loud enough that I can hear it while driving 45 MPH with my top off, also the tires are scrubbing in turns, like making a turn out of a driveway. I still have 1 year of "warranty" left on it, but after 2 weeks of calls, leaving messages and emails not being returned I've decided to junk this and just go with a quality part. doesn't make sense to try to fix/ replace this one, as now I'll have as much invested as if I had just bought a truetrac in the first place. ... show more

Ensure your measurements are correct and within specifications and replace worn items during reassembly and you should have no issues. The newer design makes significantly less clatter popping and banging than the previous design while locking reliably. This locker installed in the front axle will cause your front end to push through corners so familiarize yourself with it's behaviour and modify your driving as required. This unit front and rear has made the jeep trails a cakewalk, however the street mannerisms have suffered, though nothing unbearable. ... show more
