I started out really liking this set, as it seemed pretty decent (other than the nearly worthless palette knife, and the palette itself). But after just a few uses, the brushes are losing their shape, and shedding bristles like crazy. I’m having to pick them off of my canvases constantly. Depending on the brush styles some are definitely better than others, but as you can see from the photo, they’re warping. The brush material of some of these courser ones can actually scratch the paint right off the canvas, so you have to be very careful in how you apply it. I was disappointed to see how quickly the more used brushes broke down, especially as the carrying case is perfect for storage in my small house. Good for an occasional painting, or for someone just starting out, but not for those looking to paint regularly.

I have never oil painted before and was looking for an affordable starter set. This fit the bill. Pros: It all comes in a great case with a variety of brushes, and a small paint tray and palette knife Cons: The paint tray is too small to be useful. The bristles arrive glued together and had to be broken apart to use the brush. Once I was painting, the bristles began to not only break, leaving small bristle pieces on my painting, but also some whole bristles started to fall out onto my painting. The palette knife is a flimsy and flexible plastic. So overall, while this is an okay starter brush set, the bristle breakage was annoying enough to me that if I keep up this new hobby I will invest in better brushes.

This is great - the bristles are good and don't fall out when you're painting. It has a nice case and a wide variety of brush styles. Cleans easily and has been excellent to use. Very happy with this set!

These are good quality paint brushes that are much better than what you can get from your local hobby store. The handles are longer than usual; here it is compared to a 2” acrylic paint. I don’t do oil painting but I used it for my acrylic craft paints just fine. No shedding and easy to clean.
