I have a home studio and I have quality mics, but I consider my setup more of a prosumer, so for me the cost to have everything ideal is not worth it. If recording quality track is paramount I'd go to a studio where everything is optimized (and where they have spent that money). This items serves my purposes very well. Pros: Had no issues with clearance between the mount and the jack on my Mic. XLR plug went in and doesn't touch or rub the mount. Couldn't fit more perfectly. Price, considering what the average shock mount costs. Material of the mount. Metal, not plastic. Threads were the perfect size for the standard 5/8" mic threads, both on the mount side and the . Cons: The elastic part was made of something that is identical to what they use for hair ties for people to put their pony tails in but a very, very long piece of it. It works but it's not what I would consider a quality material. It also seems irreplaceable. Knowing how this type of elastic tends to lose elasticity fairly quickly, I question the longevity. I get that the whole thing is inexpensive so if it does break or lose elasticity, that a person could just buy a new one. But I don't like to throw things away even if repairing is the same price as new. Things should be repairable not disposable.

I purchased this for my Blue Yeti. This product uses Blue Yeti as a platform and mentions that specific microphone multiple times in the description. NOWHERE in the description does it say anything about this product potentially not working for you. They wait for you to buy the product, and include this little card as a warning that if it doesn’t fit, “it’s not our fault.” The card is a complete waste of time for 2 reasons. 1. The website they tell you to go to doesn’t exist. Go ahead...try it. 2. Auphonix does NOT have a simple solution to fix this problem. Their website does not have a single solution listed. No where on their site do they even acknowledge the problem. Unfortunately, I do have a Blue Yeti mic that has the wrong size hole to make this work. If I had known about the size difference before hand, I would have saved myself the hassle and not purchased anything. I also wouldn’t have wasted time trying to find what this mysterious “simple solution” is. The product was packed well, and appears to be good quality. I have no way to actually know. Use the measurements in my picture to measure your mic before making a purchase. Edit: I had to get a new mic because nothing would work with it due to the odd sized hole. This item fits fine on the new mic and works well.
