  • Great product
Style: Supply
I loved most everything about this. It is well packaged for extended storage. There is an oxygen absorber inside the food packet to ensure that it lasts the 25 years that it claims. I did try the Creamy Stroganoff and it was pretty good. The small pieces of chicken were slightly on the rubbery side, but not enough to make me not want to eat it. I'm pretty sure that the video I watched for this product stated that you can use hot or cold water to prepare it. I don't think that is necessary true. The stroganoff required 20 minutes of cooking in boiling water. Since it was uncooked noodles, I can't imagine that it would work with just soaking in cold water. My only real complaint is that the lid was very hard to remove. Even with the Augason Farms tool for lids, I still damaged the lid trying to get it open. Perhaps I ordered the wrong tool, but still the lid is now damaged and I cannot put it back on. It was a tool advertised as being made by Augason Farms for opening their containers, so I was really disappointed. Still, I give this product high marks because I do believe that it works they way they claim for being an emergency food supply that has a 25-year shelf life. The packet that I did try was very good, so I think I made a wise investment for future emergency use. ... show more

Used these to travel once so I can have some nights in and not have to go out shopping. I was able to fly with it no problem. (Not sure if that’s even a concern) But it’s pretty yummy.

  • Not horrible, fair price.

FINALLY got around to trying this bucket. I'd owned three of them for years, but decided to check them out. Like other Augason stuff, the pouches are large and you may need to reseal unused portions. I decided to try the mac & cheese, stroganoff, and chicken rice. Stroganoff was, even measuring carefully, very salty. Not terrible, but you might want to use slightly less of the powdered sauce mix than in the instructions. Chicken flavored rice was pretty dang good, although it took longest to cook on all of them. Mac & cheese was the real winner, tasted just like the regular stuff you'd make at home or buy at a deli. Nutritionally, these variety buckets aren't as rounded out as they could be, and heavy on sodium and carbs, but in a disaster or emergency situation, they're not a bad choice for the average prepper. Would definitely go a long way keeping you out of starvation if something really bad happened. ... show more

  • Saving it for a rainy day!

I haven't opened it. I'm well aware it's hard to open and some food packets could be damaged. I just want to set it up and forget about it. It's labeled 2023 so hoping it's all fine. I'm gonna be buying a camping stove to go with this as you need heat to cook. Been looking around for one. I bought it for just in case drastic food shortages happen. If there was a real emergency the electricity will probably be out so a camping stove is a must. I live in California where a rain storm knocked out the electricity for over a week a decade or so ago. I know there's Earthquakes. Unfortunately if a wild fire happened and had to leave ASAP I probably wouldn't need this. I live 20min drive from Paradise California the city that burned down. Definitely see leaving this behind and not caring about it with a fire. I'm buying different containers from this brand to stock up on such as the potato shreds and others like the bread mix which needs yeast and oil. Trying to just buy things that only need water mix with very long shelf life. ... show more

  • Not MRE/Great tasting
Style: Supply
For starters the lunch/Dinner pail is what this review is about. Expiration date on the meal packets are 02/01/2046 so there’s plenty of time for a natural or man made disaster if that’s what floats your boat lol. You can also use it for daily meals definitely cheaper than buying or storing groceries. Please note this is not an MRE pail, this is packaged for a minimum of 4 servings & a max of 8 servings with some cooking involved, like boiling water and adding & stirring! You can use this for individual consumption by using a portion of the packet content then putting a chip clip on the pouch for later use! The pail has a seal on the inside of the lid so storing is not a problem. The food comes with directions on each packet for how much water to use, my suggestion is to use a bit less water... like a 1/2 cup less than instructed then you decide if you need more, the food tastes great and it’s not runny like some people described if you use a bit less water, like I said you can always add more water if needed! For a survival food this is actually tasty! I would definitely buy again! I hope this info helps! ... show more

Looking through all the negative reviews I can say that the packaging has been updated and upgraded. Have not tried any of the food items yet as I have no need to but I did look through all of them because of the alarming amount of “there’s holes/it’s expired” reviews. I can safely say that the pail I received is a newer version as the larger meals (8 servings) now come in a resealable pouch. Close inspection has revealed no punctures or tears in any of the packaging. All the expiration dates are all March 24, 2047. The bucket wasn’t at all too hard to open either. It’s literally common sense as the bucket literally comes with perforations around the rim of the lid which summarises that you have to lift around the rim of the lid like one of those snap close Tupperware containers. (Update August 26, 2022) I opened and tried the food (creamy chicken flavored rice) and what can I say. It actually was not a bad meal. I shared it with my neighbor as I had too much and they thought that I had made it from scratch. Have not had the chance to try anything else but I’m assuming the same quality can be expected from the rest of the meals. ... show more
