  • My new preferred supplier of MREs!
Number of Items: 2
Ordered March 5, 2026. Amazon tracking estimated delivery March 14. Shipping was through an agency I had never heard of (Ontrac), so I was concerned. Delivered March 8 and was I pleasantly surprised! Inspection date is 06/26, so I got exactly what was advertised and expected ("inspection date of 2026 or better"). These meals are great. Though I've read stories of people opening moldy bread in their MREs, I've never opened anything in them that wasn't fresh. I take them to work for lunch on occasion because they're more nutritious and less expensive than Marie Callendar's microwave dinners. The variety is perfect, and you get pork, beef, and chicken, side items, coffee, beverage, condiments, and dessert. 1,250 calories in each, so 2-3 per day would provide all of your nutrition, though I've read somewhere that you need to add fiber if these are your only subsistence. I've been surprised by a couple of the dessert and side items because it seems they were meant to share (maybe to improve morale and friendship amongst you and your compatriots?). I'm talking about things like a good sized package of the larger Life Savers mints or a knockoff of Corn Nuts. Common items include crackers and cheese spread or peanut butter, or bread with PB&J enabling you to make a sandwich. Italian meals tend to include garlic bread. Some of these reviews complain about squished Skittles. All I have to say about that is, have you seen the size of the box and how many MREs fit in it?? It's all about using little space and weight savings. As for the heaters not working, there are some good YouTube videos with advice. I keep a small 30ml bottle with mine so I measure the same amount of water every time. I knead the water into the heater and sometimes keep it lying horizontal with the open end of the bag just slightly angled, so the water won't escape (contrary to the directions on the bag). If you Engineer things correctly, you'll figure out how to heat the entrée and any side item that would also be better warm (such as rice or beans or cobbler) at the same time. Pictured is everything except the heater and main entrée because I was cooking it at the time. Also, note the measured temperature of the heater is a little lower because the water was actually boiling at one point (at least 212 Fahrenheit). The small amount of toilet paper that comes in each MRE is a little concerning, though.. better hope you don't have bowel movements that often, and know how to fold and use the stuff efficiently! ... show more

  • Great deal for 24 MREs!
Number of Items: 2
$3.34/MRE when you buy 24 - great deal! Each package has your typical MRE materials: main entree, side, snack, dessert, coffee, and extras (napkins, gum, sugar, 0 cal sweetener, salt, moist towelette, creamer, plastic spoon, etc.). I opened the pizza slice and it looks/tastes how you expect. There was a crushed red pepper flakes packet, too. The chocolate energy bar was delicious, the jalapeno cashews were excellent, the cracker and peanut butter was fine, apple sauce was great. The instant coffee is never great in MREs, but it's drinkable and tastes like coffee. I bought these for a road/camping trip across the country. Everything is sealed up really well and neatly packed into two boxes. What's missing? Water and cups. You need water for the heater and coffee. It even comes with a long plastic spoon, so you can eat out of the pouch like a Navy Seal. Anyway, you're not going to find complete meals like this at the supermarket for $3.34/meal. Try it for emergency, camping, or long road trips. *Edit (10/4/25): I tried the first box of 12. The snacks are always really good: barbecue roasted corn nuts, jalapeno cashews, Combos, beef sticks, etc. Probably my favorite item in the MRE. Twizzlers minis, Skittles, and other various candies are also sometimes included. The company tries to evenly distribute the good stuff: if there's no coffee, you'll get a matchbook, if the main dish isn't great, you'll get a good snack or dessert. Short breads are not uncommon, like a sweetened cornbread. I had a peanut butter and jelly that was fantastic. Also, the energy bars are very good (cranberry, apple, etc.). The breads will be flatbreads and tortillas are soft, thin, and flattened. The meals really aren't that unhealthy, but they contain sodium and sugar. The sport/energy drink mixes are in their own sealable pouches (thank you) and they contain sugar. It's not diet food, it's meant to keep you going. I saw this go on sale for $75 and I think that's a great deal! ... show more

  • I would buy again
Number of Items: 2
I'm giving this 4 stars because for the money its OK...I wouldnt recommend the drink mixes or any of the 3 year out of date Reeces pieces unless you want to fill like you've been gut shot and have the green apple splatters. The main entrees were what you would expect. The individual MREs were missing several items you would get in traditional MREs No Coffee, Creamer or Sugar. 1 Drink and I think they have seen better days (gut shot). Overall The cheese packJeff. out chunky and oily. most everything else is OK for atleast 18 months I would guess. The one I recieved was packed in August 2023 and was inspected for 2026. I would buy again. I've only had 1 MRE out of 24 (Beef Patty and Jalepeno so take what I say with a grain of salt. I ate the Beef patty with the cheese and tortilla. I will let you know in 12 hours. ... show more

  • Honest Review
Number of Items: 2
This is a versatile, shelf-stable emergency meal pack designed to provide dense caloric sustenance during unexpected disasters, remote camping trips, or extended travel in a car, boat, or bug-out bag. It serves as a turnkey, fully self-contained food supply that requires no additional water, refrigeration, or prep work before eating. For its accessible price point, the combination of familiar military-style menu layouts, decent taste, and multi-year shelf life makes it a solid insurance policy for prep storage and outdoor recreation. Technical and Functional Highlights High-Calorie Self-Contained Rations: Built to deliver a dense mix of entrées, starches, snacks, and beverage powders in a single durable pouch, providing maximum energy when cooking isn't an option. Long-Term Shelf Stability: Sealed in heavy-duty, multi-layer retort packaging engineered to resist moisture, air penetration, and puncture, preserving food viability for emergency storage. Familiar Military-Style Layout: Features intuitve packaging that military veterans and seasoned preppers will recognize immediately, making heating, opening, and prep completely second nature. Multi-Environment Utility: Specially packaged for high-portability, fitting seamlessly into vehicle trunk compartments, boat storage hatches, hiking backpacks, or home emergency pantries. Usage and Storage Tips Storage for Maximum Shelf Life: While MREs are designed to handle harsh environmental conditions, storing them in a cool, dry area (ideally below 70°F) significantly extends their overall shelf life and preserves flavor quality over several years. Handling Delivery Delays and Inspection: Transit delays can occur with heavy, bulk food shipments. When your package arrives after a extended delivery window, immediately inspect the outer box and individual meal pouches to confirm all factory seals are fully intact and show no signs of pressure leaks or punctures before storing them away. Cold Weather Heating Hack: If using included flameless ration heaters in freezing temperatures, place the heater and food pouch inside an insulated jacket or sleeping bag while it reacts with water. This traps the generated steam and ensures your entrée gets piping hot even in sub-zero conditions. Final Verdict Made with durable packaging and surprisingly good-tasting entrées that satisfy during outdoor trips or emergency situations. While fulfillment and shipping times can occasionally hit a snag, the product itself arrives intact and delivers reliable, stress-free nutrition. Highly recommended for military veterans, preppers, campers, boaters, and anyone building a dependable emergency food supply. ... show more
