This is a great amp that really meets my needs. I use my Yamaha RX-A1050 to feed the Amp100vs which drives PSB Imagine Mini speakers in two other rooms. I have numerous speakers throughout my house. The Amp100vs has enough power to drive PSB speakers and keep up with the rest of my system. I use the 12 volt trigger to turn the Amp100vs on & off. I like that it has two separate lighted channel switches which allows me to control which one/both of the rooms are filled with great sound. I’ve had this amp for nearly 2 years and it continues to perform well day in and day out. I like it so much I recommended to my son to use in his house. He is equally pleased with the Amp100vs. I’m very extremely pleased with the Amp100vs. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a low cost amplifier with great sound and features. ... show more

    • Amplifier circuit catastrophic failure

Bought this unit because of the features such as A/B speaker selector, bass , treble and balance controls and the auto on signal sensing. The dual input with auto input switching is a great feature that worked well. The problem is reliability of the amplifier circuit. First unit arrived DOA. The second worked 100% and served light duty in the master bedroom power in ceiling Polk audio speakers above the bed. Used at night at light volume. 2.5 years of light duty occasional use and it died. There was about 1 to 2 seconds of speaker hum and then a series of pops and metal ding sounds and no sound. The amp had smoke rising from its vents. I disconnected and set it in the garage over night as it was smelling up the house like smoke. Opened the cover the next day and found both left and right output transistors had catastrophic failure having blown their casings apart causing the metal ding sound as the pieces ricocheted inside the metal housing. This is not really a "power amp." This is an integrated amp (power + simple preamp). This is not a problem. I used this for a Denon receiver that allows an extra 2 channels of sound in a home theater. This is very good match for that purpose. It is utterly silent, no fan or other noise. It does not get hot when run at average, fairly loud levels, I've never seen any need for a fan. Since this is powering surround channels, I can't claim to hear it alone, but it seems clear, clean for music and movie soundtracks. The power draw when on standby is negligible. It looks good and is subtle, no eye blinding LED or other issue. It "just works," and works as it should, invisible in the background. This is a great product. I have a minor complaint: I wish it had a remote for power on/off. Other than that, this is highly recommended. If I ever need another 2 channel amp, I will get one of these.     • Broke down after less than a year, but under warranty

I have had the amp for less than a year and it's done! At first I noticed that my Fronts weren't playing, even though the lights were all on (and the correct colors were on). I messed around with the connections a bit and it started working again. So I thought maybe it was the RCA cables running from the pre-out on the receiver to the amp. Changed the cord but shortly after, the amp stopped working again (all the lights still on) and has not produced signal since. It was obviously a coincidence that it started working again when I messed with the connections. So I put my Fronts back on the AVR power and just don't use my rear in ceiling Atmos speakers for now. Working fine now, besides not getting my full 7.2.4..... I am going to try and contact Audio Source and see if I get the same non-response as others have said. Will update this review once I do! UPDATE: Contacted Audio Source by phone and they picked up! I was told to get them all my info and an invoice by email, so I did. Now just waiting for the resolution to complete. It sounds like they will either fix it or get me a new unit! I will update this review again once it's resolved, one way or another! NEW UPDATE: The fixed unit came back all beat up from FedEx and was damaged, so they said toss that one and they sent me a new one. This time it was packaged adequately and arrived fine. The unit works so far! Overall I am happy with the service on this product! Upped the stars from 3 to 4 for the solid customer service! LAST UPDATE: It’s been over two years since I received the new unit and it’s still working great. ... show more

it is astounding the lack of quality control on goods sold through amazon. it does not seem to matter if it is from china or elsewhere, the chance on getting something that works is as rare as spotting a sealacamp! no volume on this unit . even attaching A PREAMP. IT LOOKS WELL MADE IF YOU GET ONE THAT WORKS. I AM GETTING ANOTHER FROM AMAZON ,SO HOPEFULLY IT WILL WORK. i get a lot off electronics from china and through Amazon. About 50% of which does not work at all. S.o you think that spending more gives you a better chance. WRONG i will write my review if i get one that works Sossy i am venting - SECOND one and how this sells i dont know. unbelievably low sensitivity. even with a preamp it is better, but not able to drive my spkrs(they are 8 ohm and 90 db efficient at the volume level i want . It might put out 50 watts but the signal has to be strong enough to get gain. My spkrs are easily driven with drok 7498 amp and the same with my sure amps (with and without preamp) that put out about 35-40 watts of clean power. So i now have 2 amps going back. I guess i would pass on this amp and get onkyo or yamaha that have a higher input sensiyivity ... show more
