  • NOT DYNAMIC
Style: ATR2500x-USB
Admittedly, in the brief time that I had this microphone hooked up, I thought it sounded like a fairly good condenser microphone. The problem is that that's exactly what it is, a condenser microphone, not a dynamic one. Although it says that further down on the page, the title refers to it as a dynamic microphone. As much as I'd hate to give a good microphone a bad review, at the end of the day this is still a product I did not want that I was misled into buying by the product's own page. ... show more

  • mic stand broken & mic can't record voice, only beeps
Style: ATR2100x-USB
This seller wouldn't stand behind their product. The microphone won't work and the stand came broken. They said it isn't their issue. Horrible service and I am not sold on this mic either. Seems highly unfair to sell something that doesn't work and then refuse to accept a return.

  • great for Zoom
Style: ATR2500x-USB
I bought this mike based on strong positive reviews, to use when participating in singing groups and meetings via Zoom. I was attracted by the fact that the product is optimized for use in recording podcasts. I have been very satisfied with this mike. I like tech that's simple to use. This mike plugs directly into my computer via the USB port. It has a standard jack on it that fits my Apple earbuds and the earphones I use for listening to music. the only control on the mike is volume on the earphones. When I jacked it into the USB port my computer shifted from taking input via its internal microphone, to taking input from the new external mike. That was my installation process, yay! I put it on the included mini-tripod, which is simple to use and stable. I've used it for three different singing groups so far and people are telling me my sound quality is the clearest of the group. It's a condenser mike, so it doesn't pick up a lot of background noise, and I don't have to pay much attention to orienting my face to the mike: it seems to pick me up anywhere in view of my laptop screen. A great mike, at a reasonable price. ... show more

  • Great mic - the included accessories are terrible
Style: ATR2100x-USB
The microphone itself is great. I'm using it for video conferencing at work, and people notice the quality improvement. As other reviews have noted, the provided mic holder clip and stand are two separate pieces of cheap plastic. In my case, I've been completely unable to screw them together. Something about the molded plastic threads just doesn't line up, and if I try to force the issue, they get stuck. If you buy this mic you'll want a different stand and mic holder. The included USB-C cables are the only ones I've ever used where I felt like I was going to break my computer's port by plugging them in. They're incredibly tight, and finally fully insert with a snap. Taking them back out is similarly more difficult than it should be. ... show more

  • Nice recordings, flimsy accessory components
Style: ATR2100x-USB
The mic itself seems to have pretty good audio performance (though, I’m admittedly SUPER amateur on this front), but the plastic bit of the tabletop tripod that has the screw threaded socket is made of weak plastic and broke the FIRST time I used it (started unscrewing the stand from the mic sleeve, finding it difficult, and it simply snapped after a few twists). May be a one-off, freak anomaly, but I’m now left without a way to prop up the mic. Update: I’ve since returned the mic (the seller had refunded my purchase, no trouble given). One of the things I’d like most about this mic—and am unable to find available (yet) in other products—is the availability of both a mini xlr AND usb-c interface for the audio. In time, this will become more common, but it presently remains a feature I’ve only been able to find available in this model. ... show more

  • Excellent and versatile budget microphone that delivers professional quality
Style: ATR2100x-USB
I waited for many weeks for Amazon to have the Audio Technica ATR2100X microphone to be in stock again. Although I rather liked the older Audio Technica AT2005 model (especially with its flat top black color grill versus silver on the ATR2100x model), I did not like the blinding blue LED light that could not be turned off, plus I didn't care for the older micro-USB port. Hence I wanted the latest ATR2100x model with the new USB-C port plus the LED light is much improved and no longer blindingly too bright. The main attraction for this microphone is its dual XLR and USB ports which is rather unique for a microphone, very few other mics have this dual port functionality. The ATR2100x mic delivers excellent sound quality and is very well made. I like this Audio Technica mic better than the similarly priced Shure SM58 mic which I also have. I also like that the ATR2100 mic comes with an XLR cable and a nice carry bag. However, the included mic stand is way too short to be useful, so a better/taller mic stand is required. All in all, I really like this mic, it's best used along with a $5 wind foam screen to reduce unwanted plosive effect for speaking words starting with the letters "P" and "S". 5 stars for this microphone! ... show more

  • Quality on a budget
Style: ATR2100x-USB
The microphone itself is great. Quality sound and it comes with 3 different connection cables. On the other hand, the mic stand is terrible but if you are looking for a quality microphone on a budget then this is the one for you. The mic stand and shock mount that are in the pictures I uploaded do not come with the microphone. I purchased those separately since (like mentioned) the mic stand that comes with the mic is terrible. ... show more
