    • Nice starter setup at a low price point

This is a good setup for a beginner that is looking to start podcasting and to even enjoy some karaoke. The sound mixer connected automagically with my Windows 11 machine and it was simple to get this running in under a couple of minutes. The instruction booklet states that the microphone is cardioid pickup however it is very sensitive and it picks up background sounds - use the mixer to adjust the pickup level. The windscreen that comes with the mic along and the pop shield give you a “pro” look and are helpful for clearing up the voice. The boom arm and the attachments are adjustable and hold the mic in place, they may feel a little light on the handling side however they hold the mic in place as expected. I had an issue with the adjusting screw that connected the mic holder to the boom arm - it was a bit short and the nut does not lock into the fastener. At first I couldn't lock the mic holder in place, but after finagling the adjusting screw I got it working fine. The mixing board has two mic inputs and two live outputs for recording and streaming, the accompany input works great for background music and even karaoke sing along in combination with the mixing board “eliminate”, “ducking” and “karaoke” feature buttons. The mixing board that I received had the “PUBG” button that would not light up and the “Electric Sound” button did not appear to do anything more than state the key change - I will play around with it some more to see which “Ladder Electric tones” that it changes. “Voice change” button is fun to use and the “Primal Sound” and “MC” buttons give a nice effect to the voice. The fader knobs all worked well and there was no static when you made your adjustments, the display level LED’s for the mic and headphones also worked as expected and are very helpful for setting you mic levels. The sounds from the sound effect buttons are a little hokey but the kids will have fun with them. The USB C port dual functions to charge the battery and also connect to your computer. This lightweight portable little mixer works well enough to take over to a party for some karaoke fun. Overall - good for a beginner podcaster or to have karaoke fun with your family and friends. ... show more

This microphone/sound board kit is good for a teen or YA getting into podcasting. The moc is of decent quality and the board has some fun effects to play around with. My main gripe is the fact that this whole setup is attached to a PC, which means that by nature, the PC itself can and should be able to do everything this board does, and more, with some software. I get the fact that you might want a physical board with buttons and switches, but I'm not sure it's necessary. Either way, this is a good entry level kit, but if you are a little more advanced, I would skip it and opt for something more software based. ... show more

I’m a little confused with this set up. Why would you go to the trouble of getting all this instead of using an open source software on your computer? You have to plug this into your computer anyway, right? The built-in sound effects are okay but I don’t really see anyone using them for their podcast. The instructions were difficult to follow. It was mainly me pushing buttons and seeing what they do. I don’t think I would recommend this bundle for recording or podcasting. My recommendation, if you’re just starting out, would be to get a usb microphone and download an open source recording software like Audacity. ... show more

If you're looking for a full sounding mic and GoXLR Quality interface and a solid boom arm then this is definitely not what you're looking for (unless you're willing to get really hackey with it I suppose but at that point I'd point you to make an interface yourself) BUT if you make use of a coupon on here I'd say this might still be an easy recommendation if you don't mind the skimps here and there for quality. I recommend this Xisono Podcast Equipment Bundle it has everything you need to get up and running and you will be able to determine if you like doing Podcasts or this type of work enough to upgrade to Professional equipment over time. The Bundle includes an Audio Interface, Condenser Mic, an XLR to 3.5mm Microphone cable, a Mic Arm, a shock mount and Mic pop filter with a anti-wind foam Mic cap. Also included is a Manual that explains each item and makes setup easy. The Microphone is of good quality and the Mixer gives a feel for what you can do with the various settings. Little bit of background noise cancelling capability and a fun bit of voice disguising effect. This is a great value budget Bundle and I am enjoying it to get a feel for podcasting, VLogging and possible YouTube like presentations. ... show more

Full disclosure, I got this solely to play with it and have some fun. And, I am 100% certain that I will be able to have some fun with my kids using this. HOWEVER, anyone wanting features to produce a moderate-quality podcast should look elsewhere. The microphone is XLR and is nothing special. The deck itself does have some fun little sounds and can serve as a decent little karaoke machine where you run the music from your phone. However, there isn't even a way to independently level mics one and two. They are both on the same fader knob. Also, "headset" and "earphone" are both just monitor mixes with live 1 and live 2 just being your audio outputs. With just a bit more focus, this could be a nice little package, and if you want it just for fun, go for it. I'd recommend a pass, however. ... show more

One of the nice features of the mixer board was elimination of background noise. I tested with music playing in the background and wife vacuuming in a nearby room. None of that came through. There was, however, some clipping of soft sounds. The sound effects and voice alterations were fun and might get used for dramatic effect. Overall, if you want to get a low cost entry into podcasting while allowing for some mixing in of external sounds, this is a decent solution. ... show more
