    • It’s a fab mixer
Very simple to use. Seems a bit to much for a 2 channel mixer but the screen makes up for it. It has 4 buttons on it for effects and 8 channels open. It’s a good fit for those that are intermediate to advanced but it will work for beginners too.

Not exactly sure why other reviewers had such a bad experience. I also purchased this item. While it's a premium price for the product (as is with all Pioneer DJ products), the built quality is good and everything functions out of the box. For folks who are interested in getting the most features for the cost, there are certainly other options available at a better price. However, this is a solid unit for what it's built for-- A self-contained unit that can mix music from two sources (the left and right music controllers) and mics, with some effects, can record to USB, and work without being tethered to a laptop (hence all-in-one). The only major downsides that I can think of is 1) There's no booth output (usually only needed when playing at gigs or events) just master output only, and 2) While the build quality is good for what it is, the unit itself is rather plasticky rather than industrial grade metal like Pioneer's DJM mixer series (Then again, if you're that serious about built quality this isn't the ideal setup for you-- Something like the more feature packed XDJ-RX2 or XDJ-XZ would be better suited). ... show more

I also own a XDJ-XZ and the XDJ-RR by comparison is a unit that is small enough that can be portable. In terms of functionality, it has everything that you would ever need for basic mixing and scratching. I like that the screen is very clear and the brightness is great. The jog wheels are very responsive and accurate. The pitch sliders are very accurate as well, but not as accurate as 100mm pitch faders. The unit does lack in some areas such as inputs, but I purchased this unit to use as stand alone and with Rekordbox. For the intended purpose, it does its job very well. It does not come with a booth out, but that's no problem. I use the second RCA master out as booth out. I really like this unit. Edit: After few weeks of ownership, I must say that I still like the unit, but I have a big complaint and that's the sound quality. It is not very good on a good PA system. I think that for its intended use in the bedroom, it is OK. ... show more

I dig it. It's great on a budget for a casual dj or for house parties. If you don't need all the bells and whistles of the rx2, this is a great more affordable option.
