  • $130-$150 is the appropriate price for this
Update: I previously wrote that they lost their minds when someone thought they should charge $300-400 for this thing and informed them I was on my way to buy a replacement for my first one that spazzed on accuracy after about a year (waaay high readings, replaced a bunch of stuff in the house before realizing it was this thing dying). Even bought a different brand and hated the refresh rate on it bc it takes the average of the last 35 minutes to give you a number it claims is current AQ. It lies. Air thingies 😉 need to have the current instant readings that Atmotube has. However, I would buy a professional Mini Rae PID before I spend $400 on something that's not going to last more than a year or two. They might be $4k but it's going to last 10+ years. They don't connect to phones though bc they're for hazmat professional usage lol. So that's the advantage Atmotube has. The app really needs better graphs, the scale they use is insane sometimes. Like no way of seeing the pattern when you are zoomed in that close but if you be switch to seeing everything for the last day (zoom out) you can't see the pattern either. They need to adjust the y axis and include maybe 4 hour increments instead of either an hour or the day. The other monitors for sale for $300 in another very well known and also reputably pricy as heck brand. It seems marketed towards people who have a lot of spare change considering their air filters are something like $540 a year for just the refills for ONE filter unless you find it aftermarket. Normally people aren't willing to drop that much, but they have corporate clients because it's professional healthcare grade. Atmotube started price matching this air quality monitor they are selling at one point and I really hope they don't go back to that. Lots of people enjoy their products but we don't have $400 a year to buy replacement monitors when they malfunction. I do have ~$100ish and for the instant readings and my absolute mess of an indoor air situation, it's been worth that much for me. ... show more

  • Works great except….
You have to charge the battery every day, if you’re lucky you can get almost 2 days in but I’m rarely lucky. I’ll have to find a way to leave it plugged in 24/7 and hope the charging cord doesn’t get damaged. Not happy about the battery but if it works… sigh

  • New to this but works very well
I had been having serious allergies / respiratory issues that my OTC meds hadn't really been keeping at bay, and researched air quality monitors to maybe get an idea if we had issues in the house or what / where was worst affecting me. I then was reminded of air purifiers being a thing and got one of those which has more or less completely helped me, but I still got one of these monitors because the knowledge seems useful. It's only app driven, there's no interface or readout on the device itself although I believe the light will give some basic indications, like if quality is very bad. The app is fantastic though. I do wish they broke down what is usually found in the different categories of tests (PM1 etc.) but that's easy to look up. Aside from air quality, the temperature monitor and humidity monitor are useful to see if some of your house isn't getting airflow or something like that. ... show more

  • Good air quality monitoring
I’ve had the unit about 3 years and it continues to work well. I leave it plugged in 24/7. I bought it and a Dyson air purifier at the same time. The Dyson also reports on air quality. I also use air quality reports I get from the App Store. The main reason for the concern is 1. wildfires and 2. general air pollution in Los Angeles. ... show more

  • Remote area monitoring
I needed an air quality monitor for when I go to areas that are not covered by maps of monitors for hiking, biking, or running. During fire season smoke can flow in some areas and bypass others, depending on the terrain and wind. The Atmotube Pro allows me to be aware of the air quality as it changes. Attaching it to my bike handlebars I've been able to see that as I traveled in a certain direction that the air quality was deteriorating and turn around to cleaner air. And it gives me assurance that the air is good when I go to an area not well covered by AQI monitor maps. Pressing the button gives immediate range reading (color coded LED output) of good to hazardous. For details you must use the phone app. I have noticed that the VOC reading goes up erroneously (by checking with a different meter) after a bike ride that is corrected by turning the Atmotube off and then back on. I'm speculating that it may have to do with the increased air flow during biking that ceases when I stop. It seems a simple software fix to allow seeing their AQS output as USAs AQI or some other country's system. Would also be nice to have a small LED screen for detailed info on top of the color coded LED. ... show more

  • I was skeptical from the reviews, but!
I read the rather average reviews but bought it anyways because I judged it as having the best on Amazon. I've had it for 2 months now and it's very accurate. I took it on a plane which has notoriously dry air and, sure enough, the meter showed the air was dry. I was worried about the battery life, but I think it's something like 3 weeks, I can't remember because it's much longer than is an annoyance. Luckily you can charge it with a USBC cable. The only recommendation I'd say is make the global map easier to read with numbers instead of colors. I want to know the average for a city, I don't necessarily need to know the AQI per city block. ... show more

  • Piece of mind while traveling
We used it for monitoring air quality when the wildfires were a problem then found it very useful for monitoring air quality in hotel rooms. It showed us how bad the humidity was when we were suffering from a bad air conditioner and help prove that the room stank by showing the level of VOCs.
