The bag--which includes four padded lumbar back pads for comfort and support--is outfitted with a large main compartment with separate side-entry zippered boot sections, making it easy to slip your boots inside after a long day on the slopes. You also have plenty of room for other items thanks to the large expandable pocket, which can hold a ski helmet or jacket, and the bungee cords on the front for maps, goggles, and other accessories. Perhaps the most convenient feature for frequent skiers, however, is the pair of hidden, reinforced backpack straps, which make it easy to carry the boot pack to and from the parking lot. Other features include a waterproof tarp along the bottom to keep the bag and its contents from getting wet; a vented boot section with bottom drainage grommets; clips in each pocket for gloves, keys, and other small items; a front MP3 player pocket with an exterior earphone port; top and front carrying handles; matte chrome hardware; and a contoured shape that fits your boots perfectly. Have had this boot bag for three years now and travelled with it a number of times in those years. Great bag. The material is solid. Lots of room - I wear a size 12 boot and still get my helmet and a bunch of other stuff in the middle compartment. Would buy it again.

Hands down these are the best check your boots bags. They are great because: -you can pack clothing in the side pockets and on top to protect your boots and helmet. Not only are they very well protected but you can pack an amazing amount of stuff in here -there are straps you can use like a back pack but a pocket to put them in when checking so they dont get caught -handle on the top where you need it -very sturdy I have used these to travel internationally etc. I stupidly bought one of the "cooler" boot bags that look more like a backpack for my kidsand while maybe if I someday am mountain climbing with my boots and skis they might be better for checking your boots not so much--less room and no way to pad your helmet. So now I had to go back and buy more of the athalon bags seriously--the best ... show more

Great bag that has been on planes, in the back of pickup trucks, stuffed into lockers, and has held up perfectly. It’s a great bag that fits all of the essentials (boots, helmet, goggles, jacket, pants, socks, balaclava, etc etc.) and it actually helps me regulate how much gear to take with me (if it doesn’t fit in here I don’t need it). The bag has plenty of room for everything and I love the little air holes for the boot compartments in case your boots are still wet when you put them in. I purchased this bag four years ago and it’s held up to weekly use during ski season. The only signs of wear and tear I see are the gromits on the drain holes for the boot compartments are a bit rusty, but that’s on me for throwing in ski boots that still have ice and snow on them and not doing anything other than hanging the bag on my gear wall to dry. The bag easily holds my boots, ski helmet, goggles in their hard case, multiple pairs of gloves and mittens, neck warmers, hats, extra socks, hand warmers… all the extras you might wish for to adjust to changing conditions and maximize your enjoyment of a day on the slopes can be packed into this bag. It’s not a great backpack but it gets the job done if you have to haul it from the parking lot to baggage check and from baggage claim to your rental car or other transit. Mine is holding up to my abuse and neglect well and I will likely buy another if my current one ever needs to be replaced. I even took it along when chaperoning a week long school environmental camp in November and other parents commented “that is an awesome winter gear bag. Where do I get one?” ... show more
