    • Exactly what I was looking for.
My kid’s a 7th grade flautist. She likes it and wants to stick with it. This year she’s been signing up for solo and ensemble competitions though school, and they need classical music, preferably with piano accompaniment, at least 1.5 minutes long, and at a reachable level for skill. One would assume this isn’t too much to ask. But it is. Most books and pieces at a reachable level for her were too short. And online ordering doesn’t allow you to look inside the book first. So now we own books of classical music that she can’t use for these purposes. The reviews on this one made me hopeful, and she agrees it is exactly she needs. Most of the pieces are longer than 1.5 minutes. Most are too difficult for her right now, but a few are just the right level for a doable challenge with regular practice. And because most are above her current skill, this book should be useful for as long as she wants. It also came with the flute part in a separate book, which she prefers for ease of practice. ... show more

    • Lots of Short and Sweet Classics
This is a great collection of short and sweet classics, and not all Baroque. There's some Saint-Saens, Satie and Rachmaninoff. I am an older adult who didn't make enough time for flute playing when my kids were younger, but now it's time to rebuild my skills. This book is great because it's challenging enough to inspire me and yet has enough easy but beautiful pieces to ensure that I don't get frustrated--and pieces I could play in front of others without too much advance warning. (And as others have said, if you buy it new it includes both the flute part and the piano accompaniment.) ... show more

Great condition and quick delivery. Only taking away one star because it was only the piano accompaniment book. I expected the solo flute book to be included, since that is how the item is usually sold. But, I was mainly buying it to replace the piano book that I had lost, so not a big deal, just a little disappointing. I am sure they had no idea there was supposed to be another part included. ... show more

    • Missing flute solo insert
Did not contain the flute solo insert, but I guess that should be expected since I bought it for $3. The description of the book indicated ”wear and tear” but it was basically brand new. I really wish I had my flute solo part though.

I was so confused by some of the reviews so I am going to clarify. If you buy this NEW from Amazon, it DOES come with the flute part. This has been in my watch list forever and that's why it didn't buy it sooner. BUT my daughter's flute teacher wanted her to get it, so I had to! It includes standard repertoire every flutist should know. Most pieces are intermediate with a few more advanced pieces. The pieces are only 1-2 pages which makes it handy for when you need to throw a solo together in a short time period. ... show more

I ordered this book NEW from Amazon Prime. The book arrived earlier than promised, and it included the piano accompaniment book AND a separate insert of just the flute parts (see picture). There are a lot of great songs in the book with various levels of difficulty. My daughter is really looking forward to learning them. ... show more
