I bought this product a few weeks ago, I bit nervous because I was afraid to use it, to burn myself. When I received it I was impressed of how good the presentation looked, the box was intact, it came with dark glasses, a razor, the charger and the product itself, they came in smaller boxes and very nice set up. Instructions were in there, and another sheet that states who and how to use. Very clear and understanding. I started using it about 1wke and half ago, am using it 3 times per week, I started low at 1-2 on all areas and now am using higher level. Def you can feel that is working, obviously if its too too hot lower the level down, my skin is light and a bit sensitive I had to stop at level 7, that is my comfort zone, of course everyone is different. At this point i do feel my leg hair is coming out slower, before I had to shave every other day, now takes me about 2 days to shave again(this is big for me) I will update later down the road and see how things are doing, but other than that I love the product, easy to use, it is good quality. ... show more

This review is for the Aopvui At-home IPL Hair Removal device, Model AI01. Note, at the time I'm writing this review, the listing page here shows it as 'Item model number: MS-208B'. But the actual model number shown on the box this came in and the model number on the handle of the device is AI01. The window area where the light comes out of the device measures about 1/2 inch by 1-1/8 inch. It is difficult to know how much to move the device with each flash since with each move to a new location you have to estimate where you last left off. The plastic around the light window makes estimating more difficult. So it can take some practice if doing this yourself. But since you are supposed to go over each area 2-3 times that should help you get areas you might have missed. Still, it might be more convenient to get someone else to guide the device along. I got this device for my wife but I tested it on myself, first. I tested it on a small patch of skin on my shoulder. I set the device to 7 (after first testing on the lowest settings) and didn't experience any pain other than I could feel some heat in the hair follicles with some of the light flashes. I could smell burnt hair at times as well, but that is supposed to be normal. I applied a moisturizer to the area afterwards and I didn't experience any skin irritation. The User Manual has some warnings you should be aware of: "This product is not intended for use by: Children, elderly, and people with either local or systemic inflammation; people who have photosensitive skin or are taking photosensitive medications; people with pacemakers or other implantable electronic medical devices, or those sustaining life with the help of life-support devices, such as ECMO." It's probably not recommended for the elderly because their skin is thinner and more susceptible to damage, though there could be other reasons as well. ... show more

I just received today. I have not yet tried the product. I ordered it because the ad indicated it works on red hair. The first thing when I open the box is a card indicating it does not work on red hair. I will probably try it anyway but the description is not accurate with the actual product.

I wanted to hold off on the review until I had used this product enough to see if it worked. It does! I started with one foot (I have hobbit feet). I shaved the hair from both feet and left one alone and used the IPL device on the other. While it hasn’t eliminated all the hair, what does come through now is much lighter and softer. I have used it on other body parts to the same effect. The only warning that I will give is that at higher levels it does give off a sudden heat surge that does get your attention. ... show more

The product page is a little deceiving, as it shows the laser piece by itself, giving the impression it may be cordless. However it is not, there is a cord that mush plugged in for it to work. Once we figured that out, their rest was deciphering the somewhat confusing instructions. The instructions use a few terms for thee same button, which adds to the confusion. Trying to figure out how the change the from Hair Removal, Acne Removal, etc took a few minutes and experimenting. FYI, tap the power button the me trigger at the same time, it’ll change the settings. Tap the power button by itself and it changes the intensity settings. The product page says laser removal, tho as best I can tell it’s not an actual laser, it’s high intensity light. There is a counter on the LCD readout that tics down each time it flashes. A lifespan for the light, yet I can’t find where to order more lights. Now, the skin sensitivity and threshold is dependent on the person as well as the location. My wife has a high pain threshold and using it on her legs on level 1 she felt nothing. This this is a woman that prefers to be dipped in a vat of wax and have all her hair removed except for the hair on her head. She also falls asleep while getting tattooed, just to show her pain levels. Tested on level 5 with light brown hair and she just felt a warmth. Me however, on the underside of arm near my wrist, on level 1 I felt felt some warmth, but not real discomfort. On my back, I have some dark hairs starting, wife zapped me on level 5 and it felt warm, didn’t hurt. On my hand and at level 9, I admit it caught me off guard and not only did i feel it, but it let out a fairly loud zap! I almost dropped the unit. This is a unit that is supposed to work over several weeks. We just started testing it, we will update as we go along to see if this actually works as intended. ... show more
