  • Fantastic budget gaming PC
This is a fantastic laptop for the money. So far I find it's fast, has a great display, and has surprisingly good battery life (if you're just watching movies on it for ex). So far the only current gen game I've played on it is Divinity Original Sin 2, and it's run smoothly. FYI the fan on high performance mode when playing video games is REALLY loud, but it works VERY well. The laptop only gets slightly warm. It works so well I do not even need to use my external cooling fan pad. This is obviously NOT a high end gaming PC, so do not expect it to live up to that level of performance. But for an affordable gaming laptop, it's great. Some CONS: nothing major, but just some annoying things: As it's a really good price (I got this for $700 on Black Friday sales), they had to cheap out somewhere, so that would be 1) the trackpad (it really sucks, very flimsy and is either not responsive or overly sensitive) and 2) the fact that there's no FN lock (seriously ASUS.....) Keyboard color - you have to jump through WAY too many hoops to customize this. I had to do so much googling to figure out which app in the ASUS store I needed to download to customize this (there are 2, they have very similar names, one works for this model, one doesn't). As the keyboard color is billed as one of the main features of this laptop, you would think ASUS would, at the very least, have the color control app pre-installed. Power plan issue - I have this very strange issue where the laptop automatically switches to high performance battery mode when I turn it on. Even if I left it on balanced when I shut it off, it changes to that. I have tried deleting the plan, but it simply reappears. OVERALL Totally worth the money. If you need a new gaming laptop, and cannot afford or don't care for high end, absolutely get this. Unless you can find a laptop as good as this but with a FN lock key, then get that one lol. ... show more

  • Very good value, solid gaming laptop
Recently received this product and I am really pleasantly surprised by how well it runs all of my games. I've tried gaming on laptops before with varying degrees of success, but this one really stole the show. I can run very modern games like Wolfenstein 2: New Colossus and Fallout 4 on Max settings with NO hitches. That should give you an idea of how hard you push this laptop. The lights up display on the laptop is super cool as well, if its not your thing, you can easily turn it on and off via the keyboard. As for value for money, a lot of gaming PC's and laptops can get very expensive (i.e. $1000+) The benefit to doing a desktop build is that you can always update it, it's harder to do with laptops. BUT despite that, I would say that this laptop offers a very competitive price and is able to match most other offers on the market. If you're not someone who cares about updating components every 4-5 years and you love gaming full stop, this is an excellent purchase. My one complaint thus far, is that when you remove the keyboard from a power source, the screen goes black temporarily to adjust to the lack of power. A VERY minor quibble, but it's noticeable enough that I feel I should mention it. ... show more

  • Looking to Maximize your minimum? This might be it 🤷♂️
Everything was as anticipated if not more. Runs so smooth. My box actually had a lot of physical damage to it though the laptop itself seemed fine. So scratches dents or spots. Software is great and runs just high enough to enjoy a lot of mainstream games 👌 which means my personal games are ezpz. Running regular office wares is ezpz. My tower was painfully slow with an ryzen 3 so jumping up a stage (with intel) was pretty nice. It was a Great cost compared to the hardware and specs and the software seems to run so seamlessly so far!! Manual Control between Silent/Performance/Turbo is so awesome, let’s me cool this bad boy off if I’ve been gaming for too long too 😂 ... show more

  • Has 2 slots for RAM DDR4 upgrades.
I've had this laptop a week now. Got it mostly to play Cities Skylines. I suggest ordering another 8GB minimum of RAM DDR4 for about $30. There is a second slot to place this. Makes a huge difference! And saves money than just buying a laptop with 16GB. Or for playing larger files order two 16 GB of RAM, they need to be the same to work properly. Has 2 fans, one on each side, normal fan sound when needed. There are 3 USB slots, the two 3.0 ones do fit all ordinary USBs. Has RGB keyboard with numeric keypad. One HDMI outlet. Keep it plugged in, works better in all ways. Arrived early from Oregon to L.A. ... show more

  • It’s a good laptop to play genshin impact but the only problem I have is that the fan is loud
As I said I enjoy playing games on this laptop, in sims 4 the computer can easily hit over 100fps the only thing I wish for is for the computer to be quieter in performance mode as my computer is usually the loudest in the room

  • Great Laptop
We needed a more durable laptop to be used in a custom wood shop running a CNC. Lots of fine dust and things to break it. Didn't want to pay the price of Name brand tough book. This hit the mark, great lap top for price.

  • Incredible laptop. Don't hesitate to buy
So far so happy with this purchase. Handles all tasks with ease. Can get loud at times but it's all good and expectable. Build quality is quite nice for a price like this. Only little issue I encountered is brief screen blackout when turning it on and when plugging in and out the charger, however I contacted ASUS support about this and they told me that Display Refresh Rate Switching should be disabled from intel graphichs controller to remove that issue. And it worked. I'm attaching the screenshot they sent to me. ... show more

  • Freezes on Netflix/Youtube videos
I've given up trying to figure out why this laptop randomly freezes when watching Netflix and Youtube videos. The screen will freeze the image for about 5-15s while audio is still working and then just refresh to show what it should and unfreeze itself. I even added another ram stick in and updated all the video drivers to no avail. On BlueStacks I get about 30fps with high visual settings and 55 if I set everything to minimum allowed. Kinda disappointing for this price point. ... show more
