I checked out the various motherboards available which support Ryzen 5000 series, and came up with this board. It probably lacks a few items which may influence a decision depending upon your exact application, but this board had no problem with the shipped UEFI code recognizing the 5000 series Ryzen. Therefore, I figure ASUS is shipping a recent version of the software on the board. The layout and headers are decently thought out, though there is no miracle if you have a large CPU cooler and large video card as I do. The documentation and labelling on the surface of the board are fine. No problems there. ASUS also has software which can control RGB and fans, and that is adequate software. It might need some playing around if you want to have many different types of RGB all work together. I am not trying to do RGB actions on my keyboard and interior of my PC. I typically just let them run some subtle routine. The cooler blocks some of the fan headers and the video card makes getting at the drive connectors hard (but not impossible). If I wanted to add more memory, I would have to remove the CPU cooler and then reinstall it. This large Noctua fan will create a problem for very tall ram, but not for most sticks. I was able even after installing everything to still access three fan headers and to add some SSD working from the front of the case with the front panel removed. Great board packed with features, and most importantly the ability to handle bios flashes without booting in case something ever goes wrong. Running with a 5600G, 32GB of 3600, and a Samsung 870 Evo, PBO and similar work great on everything and speeds of all the parts test to spec. I'm particularly happy to have a built in SPDIF audio connection as this will be mostly used as a HTPC server, though I realize that isn't something most people are looking for. I don't run RGB, but it handles all of that from just the BIOS, so you don't need to run software for that unless you want to. The ioshield is nice, but would've been nicer if integrated instead of snap in. All in all, for the price, it is a great board. Note: Due to several comments talking about open boxes and similar showing up as new, I made sure to check all of that as soon as the package arrived. Since Amazon puts all the sellers together here, it is a bit of a lottery, but mine came through brand new and everything sealed inside and out.

Not sure why there are 1 star reviews for this, unless a faulty board, but that can happen with any motherboard. I've had no problems with mine, so can't comment on tech support with Asus. Easy bios flash to be able to use a 5600x. Only thing that would have been nice is another chassis fan connection or two, but you can get around that with fan splitters. There is no front usb-c header, but my case doesn't have one, so that didn't affect me. With bios updates, everything has been stable. Was able to overclock 3200cl16 ram to 3800cl16 with little effort. Curve optimizer with recent Bios updates has been great, running at 4750ghz, with a -15 core offset. Probably will tune it further when I get some time. Overall, no major complaints, I think the board looks really good (better than the pictures, the yellow accents are pretty subdued, which I was a little worried about). Just make sure it isn't lacking any features you are wanting, but I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Okay gave it a month before writing a review. When looking for a MB have to consider buying new or used(renewed) and took a chance on getting this renewed Tuf Gaming B550-Plus even with reading the reviews which were 50/50. When I got the MB everything was still in their package even the IO cover was sealed up. Had no problem installing it into the case and everything worked when booted the first time. Had to update the bios to the latest version which was no biggie. For being an renewed item works great for me.

b550, wifi, bluetooth, many pci-x slots, lots of fan headers what more can one ask. Great motherboard. I have a 5900x running on this. Took one star off for 1. No usb 3.2 usb-c header, newer cases come with front usb-c port 2. Asus software sucks. Especially armoury crate fails to install and both the crate and AISuite fail to uninstall cleanly. Dont install those if not needed. 3. I got a board that did not have the latest bios and the 5900x was not recognized. Had to take it to Microcenter and had them put an older processor and flash the bios for me for 29 bucks. 4. Also when inside the NZXT 510 case the cpu power header placement interferes with the 140mm fan installation (so only a 120mm fan can be used on the top). Not sure if this could be a mobo drawback, but something to note.

Shipping : Received 2 days after ordering. Packaging clean sealed. Installation was the same as any other board. All components installed were picked up by the mother board. I did do a bios update and hardware updates which is something you should always do. Not once did I have a conflict. This is the second board that replaced the first board I ordered. The first board I ordered stopped working in the second week. I contacted ASUS support at 11pm eastern. I told him, everything I did to test the mother board put me on hold for 2 minutes and he said I can send the board to them they would fix it or replace it. Customer service was A plus alone. But I decided to return it to Amazon. I did it over my phone in less then 5 minutes. Amazon even sent out a replacement and I received a new board within 2 days. This is even before I returned the other one back. A plus on Amazon return. So why 5 stars. 1 star for shipping, 1 star for packaging, 1 star for installation. 3 stars..... But a 1 star for ASUS customer service and 1 star for Amazon return. 5 stars. You cannot expect everything to work due to human error. What you should expect is the company and seller stand behind it. Thank you.
