I bought the Netgear RS300 router with wifi 7. Using this router with my Dell desktop model XPS 8950, I found that I could not connect to the 6ghz band on my router. The wifi adapter card in my Dell was the factory installed Intel Killer wifi AX1675 adapter card. This card has caused the exact same problem in all Dell XPS 8950 computers for many, many owners. So . . . . to make life easy, I just removed the internal wifi card in my dell, and replaced it with the Asus ROG USB-BE92 Tri-Band BE6500 Wifi 7 USB Adapter. AMAZING !! Did not have to install any drivers, my Windows 11 Pro picked it right up and I had much higher speed than the old Intel factory wifi card. Now I have to tell you that my computer is new and is using an I7 12 core processor and Windows 11 pro. It's WICKED FAST. So now that I have a new ASUS USB adapter, things are really NICE. Hope you get the same results. BOB !!

I have the Zephyrus G16 2024 (4090) laptop. For many months, regardless of specific Intel updates, I have been dealing with unstable connections + minor packet losses and most importantly disconnections with the Wi-Fi itself, even with 1G up/down. Because I am playing online FPS titles, I see these problems instantly and it's affected my match quality and performance where that one disconnect from any rank match means heavy penalties. At first, I completely upgraded our Wi-Fi 6 systems thinking it was the Wi-Fi itself, and because the laptop had Wi-Fi 6E card inside, I assumed it would be able to take advantage of having a Wi-Fi 7 router and fix most problems. It did not. Then I typed in the Wi-Fi card again to search for any information, and I found endless threads and complaints on exactly what I was suffering. I had no idea how bad that Intel Wi-Fi card is! I'm so thankful to now be in the know on the actual problem. I saw this USB Wi-Fi 7 adapter from ASUS and everything new that I could take advantage with it. It's genuinely fixed every problem I've had in these games. It really is plug and play. The first screenshot is the Intel Wi-Fi card, the second screenshot is this product, the ROG USB-BE92. The fact I am getting near ethernet levels of download/upload is something I never thought I'd see on Wi-Fi. I am getting NO disconnections and NO instability while gaming. (I am connected to the 6GHz band as I'm only two feet away from my Wi-Fi mesh with no obstructions). My bufferbloat grading was an average C with sometimes a B. With this ROG USB, I am getting consistent A's only. I am so happy to now never be dealing with this problem again. I really encourage everyone who has this problem like me to know it is exclusively that Wi-Fi card! You do not need to download any additional driver firmware if you're not in specifically in the Europe/Asia regions (as they state on the website). Please NOTE you have to have specific USB 3.0+ Type A and/or Type C ports to get the maximum output from this product. It works fine for ports below that, but the older architecture of those ports will limit the download/upload potential.

This ASUS Wi-Fi adapter presents a viable option for upgrading your PC to Wi-Fi 7. It includes a convenient USB-C stand for the main adapter module, which should optimize performance. You can also connect the main unit to a USB-A port on your PC, although this method may result in slightly reduced performance compared to using USB-C. The range is generally satisfactory, though occasional connectivity issues may require reconnecting to your network. Installation is straightforward; upon plugging the device into your PC, a prerequisite will install, which you'll need to run from File Explorer. After that, the device should be set up, and there's no specific software from ASUS for this adapter. Regarding durability, it's constructed from hard plastic. Overall, it's a commendable adapter, but the price is somewhat elevated. Considering its gaming-oriented design and ease of setup, I would recommend it.

The most glaring issue is the poor driver implementation and distribution. A product in this category should function with minimal friction, yet this adapter requires users to actively hunt for working drivers, often encountering incomplete, mislabeled, or non-functional packages. Even when the correct driver is found, installation can be inconsistent, requiring manual intervention, repeated attempts, and technical workarounds that should not be necessary for a modern peripheral. Compounding this problem is the lack of reliable plug-and-play functionality. Instead of a straightforward setup, users may experience partial detection, missing device features, or the adapter appearing in the system without functioning correctly. This creates a fragmented experience where the hardware is visible but not usable until extensive troubleshooting is performed. The important facts: It will give you a stable, fast connection to a wireless router over WiFi 7 and earlier, it runs off the USB bus so it's powered, it doesn't require a big installer it actually self-installs when you plug it in, it is best used with the USB-C cradle for performance, the light is sorta edgy "look at me" gamer design but it's functional, it's rather good. Pricy, but if you're looking at this, you probably have suffered onboard motherboard WiFi for long enough, this dear friend is what you need, it will vastly improve your gaming experience and is worth every penny.

I have a Dell XPS 8940 containing a "KILLER E2600 Gigabit Ethernet Controller" Version 10.79.1003.2025 (10th Generation Chipset with MS Windows 10 OS capable of 1,000mbs (1gb) speed). Unknown to me at the time was the fact this particular item (and similar) was infamous for issues with "Throughput Oscillation;" showing an initial BURST: +900mbs then immediately dropping to the 350~450mps range...a hair-tearing situation that neither COX nor ALLO could resolve. I did NOT want to spring ++$3,000 to buy a new CPU. After 2 full days of running this to ground, I had a solution to change a number of the E2600 Controller's Properties. This solved the thru-put issue and I'm hitting high 900's speeds with Ethernet. However, I wanted to sever the WiFi side of the Ethernet and did so by purchasing this ROG USB-BE92 WiFi Adapter. HOLY Roller skates Batman! This thing is LIGHT-SPEED! I have now leaped from the 250~350mbs pit up to the speed stratosphere with WiFi as well!!!! Could not have asked for better! 100% impressed and satisfied! (PS - it looks GOOD as well sitting on top of my CPU!!).

I have an Alienware 17 R5 and the wifi card was very bad. I would be 50ft from my router and speeds were very sporadic and not consistent at all. Online games would freeze and sometimes disconnect entirely from the wifi and I wouldn't be able to connect back to it. This Asus ROG wifi 7 usb changed everything! My speeds jumped from 40-90 Mbps to over 700 Mbps! my router is in the basement and I'm all the way up on the 2nd floor and have been getting very fast speeds and better yet my games aren't freezing or disconnecting anymore. Absolutely love this thing!

It worked at first and I was getting 1 Gbps up and down on Wi-Fi 7 at 6 GHz, but the next day it started crashing my machine on boot. Plugging the adapter back in would crash it again. The only fix was reinstalling the drivers, and then the same issue would repeat. Likely a driver issue causing incompatibility with my setup. I ended up returning it even though I’d already thrown away the box.
