  • Best Android phone I have ever owned, no cap.
Well despite what people like to say about ROG Phones, I think ASUS hit the nail on the head with this one. They fixed the previous issues with the ROG 8 and improved sound quality and air triggers. Air triggers have worked well for me over the last year of owning this phone and Phone has had 0 issues in this time. Very fast phone with a great processor. I can run basically whatever game I want to, even without a cooler i'm thinking due to the upgraded/added chambers for heat dissipation. The phone also works well as an MP3 player due to the built in DAC. Battery life has been great, I can game for a few hours minimum depending on the game I am playing. It is pretty light at 8oz, I thought it was lighter than my Iphone 15 Pro, but online says otherwise, it feels lighter I think due to the length and how balanced it is. Feels very premium in hand, great quality materials and feels good. The AniMe on the back of the phone is just cool, even if it is a bit limited. You can also play Snake, so thats cool. The only 'downside' I find is the camera quality, it is usable though. But if you are like me, you aren't buying a gaming phone for the camera. For the USA, this phone only works with AT@T & T-Mobile. Overall very happy with this phone over the last year, great performance and emulation also works pretty well for it being the newest gen processor. I even have luck with some (S)witch games. Don't listen to the naysayers, the only people complaining about ASUS phones are the ones who have never even held them let alone used them. My buddy has the Galaxy S25 Ultra and his phone does get hotter than my ROG 9 Pro. I can't say for Red Magic phone but I would guess quality isn't as high as this phone. ... show more

  • Solid hardware with some less that stellar forced software.
After having the ASUS ROG 9 Pro for nearly a whole year now, this has been a solid device. The charging speed and battery life has been the best of the previous phones I have owned. One of the unexpected great features has been the option to charge from the USB C port on the bottom or from the one on the side of the device depending on where/how it is positioned. The only negatives that I have encountered are from the software side. The only usable option for the phone app is the ASUS provided one. If I try to use the android native app, the screen blacks out and I am unable to answer the call. The problem with being locked into the ASUS phone app is how featureless it is. There is no access to voicemail from the native phone app. The camera quality and speed to access is one of the standout features I wanted in my next phone and it has delivered. The quality of pictures in dim or dark environments has been consistently great quality. ... show more

  • Best Gaming Phone! Hands Down!
I LOVE playing Call Of Duty Mobile. This phone delivers the speed and battery life you need to play low latency, lag-free Call Of Duty competitively. The battery it comes with will charge your phone from 0% to 100% in about 20 minutes. I love how it has 2 charging ports and an Aux port for headphones. It also has the two trigger/handle buttons on the side if you like playing with your fingers instead of using a controller. Each trigger can be set as 2 different buttons if you set it as left half and right half for each making one R1 and R2 for instance... If you buy this phone you will DEFINITELY want the ROG Delta headset to go along with it. It will give you 360 degree pin point surround sound! Love It! Super accurate. I also like the AI features while playing a game such as "no calls" etc... and others such as "background mode" so you can go back to your main screen without your game closing out. For example, in Call of Duty Mobile you can find a match and then press the home button on your phone to check a message without it closing out the game. Another cool AI feature is the "translate" let's say if someone messages you in-game in a different language. So many more things to like about this phone! Very very impressive! Definitely my favorite phone! ... show more

  • Works in the US
As described! I had ordered a red magic at first because it was slightly cheaper and and a sleeker design. However when I did get it it was not compatible with us cell towers!! I couldn't activate it with any carrier I was pleasantly surprised that the rog9 pro is compatible with all US carriers!!!! This is the reason I switched!!! And I love this phone it replaced my laptop because it's way more powerful and has a touchscreen thank you for a quality purchase!! ... show more

  • Not Worth to waste your money
Digital Storage Capacity: 256 GB Color: ROG Phone 9_Storm White Configuration: 12GB RAM
I recently purchased this phone. It is expensive but not worth it. Constantly having issues and the connectivity is really bad. Also the speed is very slow. Poorly done

  • Previous Samsung owner's thoughts
Previously owned a Samsung Z Fold3 and daily-drove mostly Samsung smartphones. The performance is obserdly good. Samsung's folding phones get the same chip in ROG phones, but like half a year, or more later every time. The back LED display is a nice attention-grabbing gimmick, but if you ever want a kickstand that isn't Asus' chonky ROG cooler attachment, or if you want compatibility with MagSafe, or magnetic accessories, you'll probably end up with a case that obstructs part, or all of the rear LED area. I'm able to play Genshin Impact with maxed settings just fine without the cooler attachment. There is some slight heat buildup without the cooler, but nothing major. The time it takes to safely attach the cooler without damaging the phone, or the cooler's USB C connection is quite inconvenient. The cooler sits in it's pouch at home, until the day when I plan to stay the night anywhere but home and forget to bring my Nintendo Switch. Mobile games are pathetic, although there is Genshin Impact and a mobile version of Final Fantasy XIV was recently announced to be in the works. Things I severely miss from my Samsung phones that the Google Playstore has no equal: 1. Samsung Notes. 2. A single, do-it-all gallery app that isn't a mess of your pictures and albums thrown to the wind (Google has like 3 different apps and they're all horrible in many ways. I have them all installed and have to keep jumping around between them for different reasons. 3. Secure Folder. 4. Splitting the screen between 2 apps was a lot quicker on Samsung. You could even create your own shortcuts for the home screen and even the sidebar menu to launch paired apps instantly. 5. You could set videos as Live Wallpapers straight from the gallery, without the need of the Wallpaper Engine app. 6. The ROG Phone 9 instantly refused to work properly with my Samsung Galaxy 3 Frontier smart watch (yes the Galaxy Wear app was utilized), making me watch-less at the moment. I use voice-dictation for text messaging from my watch heavily throughout every workday and no-longer have that capability. 7. Bixby was far from being Alexa, or Siri, but it was still far better then Google Assistant and Gemini. So many simple commands, yet not smart enough to comply. I missed out on the previous gen ROG phones, with their stronger gamer aesthetics. Things are going in the wrong direction. The 65W Hyper Charging is amazing and so is the battery life. I don't need the absolute best camera, but I do need that's current and this suffices. Went down from a 1440p experience to a 1080p. Despite this I'm not noticing the pixels and am still content. The brightness is a bit weak though. Compared to Samsung, I find myself cranking the brightness to 100% outdoors and 50-75% for GPS in the car during the day vs 40% on my old Samsung Z Fold3. If Conclusion: If you want the aesthetics, battery-life, wired charging speed & performance, that's all you'll be getting. Everything else will be a headache. I love Asus ROG products and would like to see better coming from them, so they don't die out like the Razer Phone, or LG. They need to put the focus on the software and stop relying on Google and small app store developers to fill in the gaps, because they're not doing a good job of it. I'll be sticking with this phone for the next 2-4 years as I typically tend to do. If there are no improvements during that time to solve at least half of the issues I've listed, then I'm sure I'd be going back to Samsung. Apple is not an option for me. I've owned an iPhone and don't like the restrictions and pay-walls blocking what would be otherwise easy, free and/or more customizable on Android. ... show more
