I’ve been searching for a while for the perfect gaming earbuds. I tried the razer hammerheads wireless way back when they first came out, and they were alright. Since then, I’ve been looking for something else as I hate wearing a headset and find them bulky and that they take up too much space on a desk, even with a hook. I tried the regular ROG Cetra, but the Bluetooth just had too much lag to make it enjoyable for the games I was playing. It was about 1/4-1/2 second behind, but it was enough to be noticeable. Otherwise the buds themselves were comfortable. Then, onto Anker Soundcore VRp10. These were great with the dongle, and they connected well to my pc, vr headset, and cell phone. The volume left some to be desired and the quality was alright, but the microphone was useless. After those, I tried the JBL Quantums, which sounded better, had a decent connection with their dongle, but just couldn’t stay charged, plus weren’t the most comfortable. Now onto the Rog Cetra Speednovas, and dang these are great! They sound just as good as my AirPod pro’s, the audio is clear with no hiccups, and has fantastic range. I love not having to worry about a wire, and they recharge fast in the case. The microphone is great too. My only gripe is that there is no easy way to store the dongle with the carrying case so I’ll have to plan to bring that separately somehow whenever I go on a trip. I’d highly recommend these to anyone who’s had a hard time finding the perfect earbuds since I went through that enough already. I have every intention to change my review if I run into an issue with quality or performance in the future. But for now, they’re practically perfect! ... show more

FIRST YOU SHOULD KNOW: I got these for casual gaming on my ROG Ally and I love them. LATENCY: with gaming mode is hardly noticeable, I mean I can't even tell. It's like Ray tracing. If I go looking for it I'll find the latency, if I'm just casually gaming I don't notice it. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND these if you intend to play competitively, obviously you want all wired for competition. QUALITY: Far as I can tell, quality is awesome, bass is solid. I've always noticed Asus ROG puts some good sound quality in their devices (I've owned the zephyrus g14 before, those speakers and the Ally speakers are noticeably better than competitions) BATTERY LIFE: as I've stated I'm casually gaming. Longest session I had was a bit over an hour and the battery life went from 80% to 60% ish HANDLING: Using those touch sensors is no big deal. My ONLY COMPLAINT is the voice that says what mode you're in? It sounds like they recorded it in a kitchen with an iphone mic. ALSO CHANGING EARBUD SIZES IS AN ABSOLUTE PAIN BUT they are firm when they're finally on. ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLING: Mine also came with a defect, ANC doesn't work on the left earbud, just makes a weird hissing noise. Nothing I've thought of to try has fixed the issue, I'm returning these for another. I'll update for ANC when I get the new set. UPDATE: The ANC works well, it's not Bose quality but it helps eliminate distracting noise, and I'm not sure why there's low and high ANC? I'm only going to use high ANC, ambient, or off, so switching from one to another I'll encounter "Low noise cancelling" roll my eyes and switch again. The ambient mode is nice too for when I go to the store wanting to listen to punk rock or play games on break at work. I'll add another star since the new set works as intended. SO: I love it! At most I can get a few hours of solid gaming with no wires attached and I love that. The only other defect I find is when I played Halo MCC. Best way I can describe it is it goes from being normal to big echo-y room and crap quality. Doesn't happen everytime but sometimes. Hopefully the new ones coming in won't be as defected. ... show more

TL;DR - The dongle is useless unless for only gaming and literally nothing else. Bluetooth connection made these the best earbuds I could ever ask for. Just not sure without the dongle the newer version is worth the difference in price Alright so right out of the box loved the design and feel of these earbuds. However, had some issues at the start with them. I connected them to my pc with the dongle thinking this would be the best option. I couldn't have been more wrong. First thing I did was open youtube to test them. Youtube sounded like it the in the other room coming throw a metal cup on a string. I played around with the settings, and nothing seemed to help. I did open out a video game and spotify before calling it quits. That's where it got weird. The game sounded incredibly but spotify was pretty average. So, I played around with the settings more and accidentally swapped to bluetooth connection. That's where everything changed. The game sound did decrease in quality slightly but only noticed because the game was open. Otherwise, wouldn't have noticed. Everything else improved greatly! Like perfect! With some slight audio adjustments to rock and fps for me based on my music and video game preference these became my favorite earbud/headphones yet! In the end highly HIGHLY recommend them! But hard to say the newer version is worth it overall as the selling point to me was the dongle. But hey I'm happy with them in the end so can't complain overall ... show more
