I absolutely love this ROG Ally! Not a fan of Windows 11 for gaming but it's been doing great so far for me so it is what it is. I've taken it on every road trip and since it's still a PC, I can download all my games that I play on PC and take it with me wherever I go. It's a gaming laptop essentially that takes up less space and has an integrated controller, or, grab a multi-port hub and connect your kb&m (keyboard and mouse for those who don't know.)     • Battery life, bundle, and performance
I purchased the Ally ROG because I did not have a PC or an XBox for gaming. Overall I find that there are some games that play well with the ROG, and some that require you to hook up a keyboard and mouse. The performance overall has been very strong for a handheld device, but prepare to keep it plugged in to its charger! Here are some more details about my thoughts/experience below: Games you can play: I have used the ROG for games on Steam, XBox, and Epic. I have had almost zero issues playing any games on XBox Game Pass using just the game pad attached to the system. Games that I have played like this are Sea of Thieves, Little Kitty Big City, Stardew Valley. Some games just do not play well on the ROG without a mouse and keyboard (i.e., Fortnite (Epic), Palia (Steam), Roblox). I have never had a Steam Deck, so I cannot compare, but I would think it could play some of the Steam games a little more smoothly than this device does, but you would not be able to play other PC games like on Epic or Xbox. Performance: You can mess with settings on the windows system to enhance graphics or improve play quality. I have kept mine at default for the most part. The system plays as it should with little performance issues. I would say that the graphics are not even going to compare to those of a console such as an xbox or playstation. I also really struggle with the on-screen keyboard on the ROG! Either it pops up randomly in game-play.. or it just wont pop up at all when you need it for typing. Also, if you are not connected to a charger as you game, it will drain so fast! Like, maybe an hour of gaming or hour and a half depending on the game, with a full charge. Attachments in bundle: I found the items in the bundle to be helpful and really gave me everything I needed to play any game I wanted. I do not really prefer playing mouse and keyboard on this though.. as the screen is relatively small and doesnt work as well for a non-handheld experience. The cord attachment was much needed for the hdmi port, ethernet cable port, and usb/usb-c ports. I have tested all except the ethernet cable port and they worked as they should. I was able to extend my view to a monitor as well. However... I had a hard time getting the ROG to continue charging/keep a charge with the attachment plugged in to the device. There is only one usb-c port on the ROG, so you cannot have it plugged into the charger and the cord attachment at the same time. The keyboard and mous in the bundle worked as they should. However, to use the mouse, you need to keep the USB plug-in attached.. which takes me back to the issue of not being able to keep it plugged in for charging while using the cord attachment for the USB mouse. Overall I give it 4/5 stars. Things I do not like about it are the lack of an extra usb-c port, battery life, the need for mouse and keyboard on many games, and the darn on-screen keyboard. Things I love about it are the rumble motor, and the ability to play on multiple platforms... however, I would recommend this device mostly if you are an avid x-box gamer/want to use x-box game pass. You may want to look more into a steam deck if you mostly play steam games and don't want to use a mouse and keyboard. ... show more

Nice bright 7 inch 1080p screen, fast refresh rat 120 Hz, good controllers. USB C connects to monitor with adapter when playing at home on big screen. Adjustable wattage to prolong battery life. Its also a portable tablet computer. Z1 Extreme processor.

Asus will charge you for issues that you did not send the product in for repair. They are very dishonest and will try to rip you off. Buyer beware!!!!!
