  • XMP works for me
Don't know what the other guy was trippin on, but XMP works great for me, got my RAM at 3200. The only strange thing about this motherboard is the CMOS battery, you'll find it taped next to the green/purple PS/2 ports. They must have been short on CR2032 battery clips so they put in a pin header for the battery. Now it's like some laptop motherboards with the battery stuck to the frame and two wires going to the motherboard. Makes it a bit difficult to change out the battery what used to be a very standard CR2032 in all desktop motherboards from decades ago. I know it's saving space now, but it's not quite standard anymore. I'm not using this motherboard to its fullest capacity, but it sure runs my Core i7-12700K perfectly. ... show more

  • Easy to install but,
As of (5/13/22) -needs bios update. -needed "Intel rapid storage technology driver installation software with Intel optane 11th & 12th gen platforms" extracted and zipped to a ubs if you planned on using an m.2 for a boot drive. - Get the correct m.2 key style as shown on the motherboard when purchasing an m.2 (M Key). The M+B key m.2 nvme didn't not register with this motherboard. I purchased a Kingston a400 series 120gb m.2 nvme and it didn't work. Maybe that is an issue isolated to that ssd exactly. - stock Intel cooler for 12th gen Intel makes contact with the first ram slot " dimm_A1" so check ram clearance or just get a bigger CPU cooler. Was quite a bit picky motherboard for my build. Not sure why. Just get those Intel optane drivers installed when installing windows. ... show more

  • Defaults are odd, but the hardware is solid.
It took months of figuring out what was wrong for me to fix all the minor issues that I had with this new build and they were all the motherboard's fault. It's like it's not made to be used with Windows or something. After you troubleshoot everything that may not work at first, it's smooth sailing from thereon. ... show more

  • XPM Memory Profile is broken (FIXED)
Update: Aril 2022 - Asus released new BIOS update that seems to fix issue. Do a search. There is something wrong with this motherboard that doesn't allow you to use your memory modules with the XMP profile (as it was designed). This causes a major memory performance penalty. If you try to turn on XMP your computer will most likely crash, if it boots at all. Go check the Asus support page for this motherboard, you will also see a rushed BIOS dated 2022/02/21 that doesn't fix the problem. I would not purchase unless this is fixed. ... show more
