Needed an axle nut set for all the CV Axles I have been replacing lately. Local parts house has them for $85+ to rent. Purchased this set for a LOT less and it has worked quite well when I need it without having to wait for the parts house to open. The sockets fit as one would expect them to so the potential for rounding of the nut is eliminated. The case is blow molded plastic and fairly sturdy. Well worth the investment! ... show more

I ordered these in 12 point because some axle nuts are 12 point and if they are 6 point you can still use these, ive never had an axle socket so messed up you absolutely had to use a 6 point socket on. But awesome set and value for your money. Nice blow molded case if you plan on storing them but i removed them and put on a magnetic rail. They take a beating with an impact daily as I work at a dealership and constantly doing half shafts. Astro tools is by far one of the best quality companies at a reasonable price ... show more

Rather than renting tools I figured I'd buy an axle socket set. I needed the 30 mm for my Toyota's axles. Used it with my Ingersoll Rand impact and I can see some slight marring on the metal... So I'm not sure how long these are going to last to be honest. Seems rather disappointing that it sort of deformed slightly just from the couple times I've used this one. I have other impacts that I've had for 10 years and don't show anywhere near this type of wear and I've used them for far greater amounts of time. I can definitely update the more I use it with updated pictures of wear. I think this is a nice kit especially if you need 12 point. Most auto parts stores only rent the six point but if you need 12 this is good to have. ... show more

These are amazing for the price. Most Toyotas are 12 points. A newer Toyota Tundra or Sequoia is a 39mm. A 39 mm through snap on is like 100$. You just can't beat this set. The case is nice to have to if you need it.
