  • May require BIOS update to use large DIMMs
It took a couple days of internet sleuthing to get this board operational. I was building a 64GB RAM system based on a Core i9-10900X with an RTX 2080 Super GPU. My memory was 4x16GB Corsair DDR4-3200 that are listed on ASRock’s memory QVL. The board would get to POST code 3b PEI_NB_INIT and stop. The labels on the BIOS EPROMS indicated version P1.20 which was current as of October 2019. The three newer versions up to the current P1.50 all listed better memory support, but I could not update the BIOS without getting to the BIOS. Fortunately I had another computer with DDR4 8GB DIMMs. I placed one DIMM of 8GB and was able to get it to boot (but only after removing a 2TB Sabrent M.2 SSD. The clue for that was code A2, DXE_IDE_DETECT which I thought odd since the board doesn’t have an IDE interface...but it is more like “storage detect” and the early BIOS didn’t like that NVMe SSD. Once I got to the BIOS, updating to P1.50 was easy and that allowed me to use the 4x16GB RAM and the SSD. So beware that you may need a different DIMM just to get to the BIOS if the BIOS version does not support the RAM you plan to use. I did try contacting ASRock support, but did not receive an answer yet. ... show more

  • terrible product
It's a motherboard that can't really be done. My gpu was broken, so I bought a new gpu and installed it. But the motherboard couldn't recognize it. I have to set the bios, but there is no port to connect to the monitoring on the motherboard. There was nothing the repair shop could do. I don't recommend this product. And it's terribly expensive. ... show more

  • Stuck on Error Code 36, C0, and d1
The motherboard cannot boot into BIOS. Every time I tried it gets stuck on error codes 36, C0 and d1. C0 and d1 aren't even in the manual. I looked online for solutions, seems like the general advice is reseating the RAM, clearing CMOS, and reseating the CPU. I've done all of that a bunch of times and I can't get it to work. I also followed the ASRock tech support advice and it doesn't work. No one knows why. Seems like the entire internet is befuddled by this. I would rate this 0 stars, but Amazon doesn't let me. ... show more
