I have spondylolisthesis and arthritis in my lumbar spine. Severe pain on a daily basis (some days worse than others). I wear this when I need to lift grandbabies, do physical labor (clean the house), or go walking. It helps to support my back and deter the pain for the time that I am wearing it. The difference in the non-elasticity is helping so much more than the other elasticized belts I've worn in the past. It is not at all bulky (cannot really be seen under a shirt) or uncomfortable (for the most part). By experience, you should wear it directly on the skin. I tried putting it over a t-shirt, and the belt will not stay in place. Next to your skin, it stays in place pretty well. It is good for women with a smaller waist than hips, because you can situate it on your waist and hips to be smaller at the top, unlike other belts I've used in the past. The only issue I have is that it curls or creases where it sits on my low torso (bending over or sitting causes it). So, it is permanently out of shape in that regard. It still does the job though. The price is so good, I will plan on buying one each year.

I'd been prescribed a more heavy-duty Aspen back support brace by my doctor which gave great support and pain relief but it really was too bulky to wear under clothing. I'm female and this might not be an issue for a male. This Aspen brace is less intrusive visually and provides good support and therefore pain relief. It works for me when out of the house. I'd originally ordered one size too small which I returned. This second order arrived next day after ordering in excellent condition. Another reviewer had cautioned to 'size up' if close to the end range and I didn't which resulted in my returned item. You want plenty of overlap to get the right compression for your back's requirements.

I bought two braces. Each from Different vendors. The pro came new with no issues. This one came in an open package and obviously used. I replaced it making clear the reason I was replacing it was that it was used. The replacement came in a couple of days later, and was also used and box opened.. I needed the belt so kept it and I used it over a Tshirt. the belt itself is useful and not too bulky so I can use it under clothes. I did not been for the fact that both belts were obviously used returns I would have given it 5 stars. Not sure if the vendor specializes in reselling opened box items/returns.

I ordered this Aspen Lumbar back support brace for my husband after my husband was given a cheap back girdle from the hospital which wasn’t working to support his lower back due to his scoliosis, sciatica and the excruciating pain which he was having. My husband is using the Aspen back brace now and he says it’s comfortable, durable and has alleviated a lot of his pain. This is a great lower lumbar back brace and I would recommend this product to anyone that has lower lumbar back pain etc. Thank you!!

This back support provides excellent support. The top and bottom are adjusted separately and support can be fine tuned as needed. An excellent feature of this system is that support can be quickly adjusted for seated vs standing wear. I need support while standing, but release tension while seated to match my needs. I notice that there are quite a few complaints. These complaints are based on unrealistic expectations. This is an entry level product made by Aspen Medical. It is not an equivalent option or alternative to the prescription grade, medical supports in their product line. Those supports cost $80-$200 and more. Any comparison is unrealistic and simply stupid. I wear this support over a t shirt and under nicer clothes. It is not the kind of support for doing heavy lifting or any sort of labor. The Velcro hook and loop fastening system is incredibly strong and of the highest quality. One must follow the instructions to keep it strong. Upon removal, fasten each side to the opposing side. This prevents the Velcro from getting fouled with lint and anything else that weakens the bond. A stiff brush can be used to clean the hook side if fouled. It is easier to keep it clean rather than clean it. This is an excellent support if used for the correct purposes. It is absolutely a recommended buy.
