It was super easy to assemble and I was suprisingly pleased by the velcro rail to support the mattress. It just rolls out inside the frame and velcros down. It's a good bed. Sturdy, nice looking, comfortable (have been sleeping on it for 3 nights). I especially like the headboard - very soft. Also super easy to assemble. However, the metal and woodwork (at the bottom of the bed, so its not visible once the bed is assembled) on this is quite rough, and many important edges and joints are held together (in my opinion) a bit thinly. So, while everything works great now, there's no telling how long the bed will last. I think this would've been a better value bed if it was $30 cheaper. My step-son and his friend put this together in a little over an hour. It seemed to go ok although I did hear them in dispute as to how to assemble so maybe the instructions weren't clear - not sure. I do know that it is lovely and looks really nice.

It took my fiance about an hour to set up. It's perfect for our memory foam mattress and we love the velvet headboard. The only downside is that it's pretty low to the floor.
