  • Unbelievable Guitar at this Price
Color: Blue
I've been playing guitar over 30 years. I am not great , but have had a lot of fun around campfires , Sunday School , etc .I haven't bought a guitar in over 20 years , but my hobby is making music videos .Last month , I thought what do I have to lose trying this guitar . I watched reviews , and just couldn't believe it. I now own 3 of these since then , Red , Blue , and Black . My preference is the dreadnought, but I did buy a cutaway model also , just so I have a varied Collection . The neck is perfect for me , the tuning pegs are adequate, extra Strings , the Colors are stunning , and this guitar plays as good as my other more expensive ones , at a fraction of the price. I may buy 1 more yet .... but I took a break from having guitars delivered to me for a bit. Never did I dream I could buy this quality , at this price ...Great for beginners , and intermediate players ... ... show more

  • Great guitar for a great price
Color: Black
I bought this guitar (the black one) without ever playing before and I was hesitant at first because of the bad reviews or people talking about setting it up. All I've done is tune it and it sounds amazing, string ring out nice, frets arent sharp and overall feels great to play. Great guitar for a great price. ... show more

  • Great guitar for the price.
Color: Blue
I bought this guitar for my daughter as it was cheaper to have it delivered from Amazon than take her nicer guitar on the airline. I have played over 20 years on nice guitars and also cheaper entry level guitars acoustic and electric. It has a good sound for the price, better than some name brands that cost more. I have a Teton 12 string, and an ovation acoustic. The neck on the Ashthorpe is definitely on the thick side maybe like an old-school Les Paul. Or more similar to the 12 string neck. It does measure 44 mm are about 1.7 inches at the nut. This might be a challenge for players with smaller hands. The radius seems to be at least 13 inch or flatter. The frets are narrower than I am accustomed to and medium and height they feel slightly lower than my other guitars. The bound neck was also rolled over and comfortable. The fretboard was in nice shape and frets level. The action was very high over 3 mm at the 12th fret. The strings that came on mine were OK and not corroded. I think they are phosphor bronze. Fretboard was very dry. I loosen the strings pulled the pins and applied linseed oil. I also took about 1.5 mm off of the bridge saddle. This made the guitar much nicer to play. The intonation is spot on. The action at the 12th fret is now 2.5 to 3 mm range. I did need to adjust the truss rod as well. The cowboy cords play very nicely. The finish is not fabulous but it’s also nice. Mine did not have any glaring imperfections. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. The only caveat for a beginner would be the large neck size and a little bit of setup. There are good tutorials on YouTube to perform these tweaks on your guitar. ... show more

  • Real deal here
Color: Brown
UPADATED : This is my second such acoustic purchased from this brand. I am very impressed. On both of these I had to file the fret ends down , not a big deal , I own a file kit and learned how to do it. That took 10 minute. I put extra light flat top strings on it , basically 10 gauge . This guitar had very high actiin until I sanded the bridge down ,the other guitar I bought had medium - high action. Being an acoustic , I don't need very low action. I can tell you for an almost fact that these have real spruce tops. After almost a year with my first one it still sounded as good as it did when I put new strings on it. I gave my original away to my daughter who decided to take up guitar. I only have one minor issue with this new one. There is a slight rattle coming from somewhere . I'm guessing its a loose piece of hardware like a tuner nut being loose or something else.,later I found it was that the battery compartment door was not shut properly , PROBLEM SOLVED . Overall these guitars are great , I would say with the hard woods used , the body and neck binding and the electronics added that these are comparable to brand name guitars that run into the $500 and up range. I have been playing for close to 40 years , I know what I'm talking about . I also have done numerous guitar setups and repairs. I know guitars . If you are in the market for an acoustic , you would be a fool not buy this one. Just keep in mind the fret ends will have to be worked on. A kit cost $10 and it's easy to do if watch a video on it and are very carefull. If not a Luther would charge around $25 to do it. Good luck. Remember even the more expensive guitars can have the fret ends issue. ... show more

  • This guitar is the best guitar for the price!
Color: Sunburst
The media could not be loaded. I'm a Novice player on a good day. I have pick up playing the guitar for physical therapy after neck fusion surgery and I just purchased this guitar because I've wanted acoustic electric guitar to play. I'm not sure how this will sound on your end, but I am so impressed and more motivated than ever! I have a Klipsch Gig XXL Portable wireless speaker as my Amplifier and the sound is Amazing. I am Completely Happy with my Ashthrope Dreadnought Guitar. Can't beat the price and the EQ brings out the deap lows and highs and is perfect for me as a novice player. I encourage anyone looking at buying an electric/acoustic guitar to purchase the Ashthrope Dreadnought. Best guitar for the price. ... show more
