Engineered to fit inside standard full-size bed frames, this slatted bed base eliminates the need for a bulky box spring or bunkie board. The set features 17 thick boards constructed from Wood Products and Other, all conveniently connected by a flexible nylon cord for a quick, rollout installation. With closely spaced boards, these full size bed slats distribute body weight evenly to help maintain your mattress's shape over time. Each slat includes pre-drilled pilot holes on both ends, allowing you to easily attach them to your bed frame with the included hardware pack. Attaching the slats prevents shifting and helps provide a stable foundation. Please measure the inner width of your bed frame before ordering to ensure a precise fit with the 53.38-inch width. For those reviewers complaining about the lack of supporting center posts, that's because if you're replacing the 3 existing slats on an Ashley Furniture bed, they need to be transferred from the existing 3 slats to the new ones. Sure, it wouldn't have hurt for the manufacturer to provide them again. As far as the quality of the wood, mine are plywood but they are well sanded including all 8 corners. Only issue is that it is one slat too long for my rails but easily remedied by cutting the strap and removing one. Better to have it too long than too short. The queen size does not show that you need to attach legs to add support to the middle. And, of course, when you get the instructions, legs are needed but not included. Without the legs, which are not pictured in the photos and i!list rations of this item, you cannot use the support braces. The wood is cheap, and several of the slats are already splitting at the ends, so they cannot be screwed into your bed frame as suggested in the instructions. This is junk. I gave my mother my new bedroom set before I moved to England. It is a lovely set, but has a huge design flaw: instead of slats, the manufacturer designed the bed to have MDF panels running vertically. Now, I had a memory foam mattress on this and the MDF warped and the center of my mattress sunk down. It made for an uncomfortable situation. My mother hates Tempur-Pedic, so she got a new mattress for the bed. I had reversed the panels to see if her spring bed would flatten them, but what she really needed was some slats going across. This was a great buy. It is quite strong. It is a little difficult to handle from the parcel as it is heavy, so maybe have someone help you out. Otherwise, just roll it out and place your bed atop. It made a huge difference with her bed. I had always meant to buy one when I had it, but never got to it. This can save you a lot of money if you are having sagging issues. ... show more

I got two of these sets for a bunkbed. The bunkbed only had rails on the edges to hold a bunkie board or slats, however, I opted for the slats as I felt they were more sturdy and could be screwed in place. With that being said, these slats were not the greatest, as they did not fit on the bunkbed, and I had to cut them to fit. Once they were cut, they were able to be screwed in with ease, however, with having to cut off the ends, the counter sunk holes that were pre-drilled for the screws did not work well as some of them were cut in half. If you get these, I would definitely Measure your bed first and maybe install these before putting the side rails on. Giving four stars because everything was simple to do, but really would rate more like 3.5 for all the work that I had to do. ... show more

    • Poor quality; board widths disproportionate
One end fits the base of my bed, but had to saw off several of the boards that were all about 1/2 inch too wide. Very disappointed in the quality and inconsistencies of the product.

Bought this to convert a 4 in 1 crib from a toddler bed to the full. Slats were about 1 inch too wide. Luckily I have a circular saw so I could trim them down. I couldn't carry the slats down two flights of stairs once I unstrapped them, so had to cut them to size in my daughters tiny room. Then when I realized there were no support legs, again lucky I had a 2x4 to cut down to make 5 legs. The slats did seem flimsy which is why I added the extra two legs. Support legs are clearly listed in the instructions. I purchased a full size Ashley brand mattress so figured the Ashley brand slats would be a good pairing. Totally wrong. Made an hour and a half project into 4 hours. What a nightmare. ... show more
